Arriving in America in 1829 he settled in Coshocton, Ohio.
He became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America on July 29, 1845.
While here he was among friends who had preceded him to this country and helped him care
for his five motherless children until such time he would marry again and add four new members
to the family.
Some years later they migrated to Waterloo township, Grant County,
where they homesteaded land on which the mother and father spent the remainder of their lives.
