Miamisburg Mound
Route 725 west from I-75, one mile southeast of Miamisburg.
Located at Miamisburg, ten miles south of Dayton.
This Adena mound is the largest conical mound in Ohio.
It measures sixty-eight feet height and
eight hundred feet around its circumference.
The Miamisburg Mound and land surrounding it,
that is now a park, was so called given to the
Ohio Archeological and Historical Society by
Charles F. Kettering of Dayton.
This mound was explored in 1869.
This should have been untouched but I am
sorry to say it was not, like so many others.
Here is a picture of the Miamisburg Mound.
