As I walk along the old picket
fence.
I look beside me and remember
when was the last time since.
It's been almost a year
since you
passed away.
I remember it as if it
were yesterday.
The tears of you
still come and go.
But the memory of
you will always show.
I try to
remember lessons you taught me
between right and wrong.
But each day
it gets harder since you've been
gone.
Your voice trails back to me
once in awhile and I remember your face
with a warm gentle smile.
I find
myself wishing I could have said one
last good-bye.
And asking myself why
you were chosen to die.
