Friendship

When friendship's net entangles
Two hearts so young and gay
Time permits no forgetfulness of our fun of yesterday.

Those memories are pleasant
But with the good comes the bad
And so memories of the quarels we have had.

Usually I will find
That I am to blame,
Expecting too much and not returning the same.

Although we quarrel, I admit
I would sacrifice anything dear to me,
Even my friends, in order that
She may ever happy be.

And so as time goes by
I hope nothing will ever sever
Our friendship and happiness
And may it last forever
