The Restoration Of The Sno Jet

I have a few idea's with the Sno Jet. I was thinking that putting a yamha 396 or 440 would be sweet and easy to do. I guess im looking for one with oil injection. Email me if you have one for sale or know of one.

The Engine Before

Here is the engine before it took it out. As you can see, the whole interior of the engine bay is blanketed in rubber and grease. The engine fires a few kicks when I pull it, but I can not get anymore that that. It has very good compression and one new coil. It is coated in grease. The clutch is all rusty and gummy. It needs a rebuild or replacement. I wonder if just starting with a whole new engine like a Y440 would be better.

The Body

As you can see, the seat is in need of a desent cover. When i attempted to take it off, I just ended up ruining the wood frame. I have a new one built, and now i need some vinal. The hood looks ok, but it is a nightmare. Where the two hinges are is all weak and cracked. It is about as strong as paper. Looks like some bondo is needed. The windshield was ruined in a freak carborator cleaner splillage accident, so I painted it black. Now it looks pretty cool. The belly pan has some dents, but nothing to bad. I have straitened the bumper. I just got done polishing the floorboards and the tunnel. Boy does it shine.

The Body

Now the track laies ahead. The one that is on there now has only about 3000 miles on it, but it is old and brittle. All of the molded in metal bands are falling trough the centerof it and it has a few rips. I will miss the old "Sno Jet" marks in the snow though.
