MIA #14 - In High Places

Book-cover
"It's not always a good idea to be in a rush to do things, be ahead of the game," said the Doctor. "You may miss something important."

All she wanted was a holiday. Was it too much to want a holiday that actually involved having fun, not death and terror and lots of running? The Doctor told her that Latshem was a wonderful vacation spot. But, as ever, things didn't quite go according to plan. And now there is lots of running, now there is unimaginable terror, and death is waiting at every turn.

If Mel can get past the robots, monsters, gnomes and the other survivors, if she can find the Doctor, then everything will be fine. The Doctor will put the world to rights. But which world? And, more importantly, which Doctor?

As Mel finds out the truth about the man she loves, the Doctor and his new friend Jeanie must solve the mystery of the Asfarel if they are to save reality. But reality is already cracking up, and the Doctor with it. And when the Time Lord and his friends finally makes it back to the real world, will they even be able to recognise it? Or will they reject it for the simple comforts of deadly robots and alien monsters, of great quests and galactic evils? And will they live to tell the tale? Will anyone?

This is another round-robin story featuring the 7th doctor and Mel.
