You really don't need to put a lot of money in a car to be the first to cross the finish line... This tire left its car in the dust!!
For the 8th of September it was a really hot day in Barnes City.
The temperature off the track was (just a guess) near 100 degrees, at least it felt like it with the sun beating down in full force. I am willing to bet it was a lot hotter in the cars for these drivers. All the drivers today showed great talent, and put on a fantastic show. We started out the blistery afternoon with a points race. What a race!! It was a battle between every driver for postition. In the end it was Car #34Z to be the first to cross the finish line, with a close 22X in second, 9Z in third, and 1X in 4th. Great racing today guys.
I personally want to thank the Barnes City track for allowing myself and my husband into the pits and on the track today to get some great photos. Also for all their kindness and hospitality while we were there. Special Thank you to Lisa.
Ok past the mushy stuff and back to the races!!
You can always look forward to an interesting race on the Barnes City track. Due to the dry weather the track team had a hard time keeping the track at the perfect "texture" (so to speak). They had to stop the points race after just one lap to get a little moisture on the track... Great job grounds crew. I think they go above and beyond to attempt to keep everyone happy and safe. But no matter how hard a team works sometimes it is just impossible to keep cars from taking a tumble. In heat 4 Car #5 took a roll to his top. Other then maybe a little surprised and shaken up... he came out unharmed.
In the C-main Car #25H took a ride on his roof, and also came out of the car just a little shaken.
In the A-main it was Car #20 to show just how determined he was to cross the finish line. He took a complete roll, landed on all 4 tires and kept right on racing!! However, with all his determination, he blew a tire and wasn't able to finish the race.
After all the heats, consulation races, and mains, Manatts sponsored a Last Chance Race. Here we had 13X cross the finish line, with Car #21 close behind in a photo finish.
Now we are on to the Mechanics race.. These boys were giving it all they had. They put on a great show, and showed they have more talent than just being under the car. Great race guys!! Car 10X took a roll to his side. I am thinking he would rather be under the hood switching some spark plugs then sitting in the drivers seat of a tipped car. He came out unharmed. Winners of the Mechanics race are: car #79 in first place and car #6.9 in second.. Great show to all the mechanics.. great sportsmanship, and talent!!
