Precollege Composition prepares the student for four-year college experience. A comprehensive review of the writing process is applied to a variety of writing forms. General skills are reviewed and opportunities for implementation are provided. A unit in mass media is provided.

Policies
Cheating | A student taking answers from another
student receives a "0" for that assignment/test.
The student allowing the answer to be "lifted" also gets a "0". |
Late Assignments | All class work is due at the beginning of the class period of the assigned day. 10% of the grade is forfeited for each class period that the assignment is not turned in. |
Class Tardies | One unexcused (no note) results in a demerit. |

Grading
Drop one of the first six grades

Listening Skills-- of the first
four ONLY, the two highest grades will be recorded.
Type all final drafts of paper

All grades are equal. Quarter
and final tests can not be dropped.
Assignments
Within the 45 class days, approximately
15 essays are expected. This allows time for prewriting and peer
critiquing.
