May 1, 2003 Dallas Clark 2003 <<<     >>>     Photo Index Livermore's Dallas Clark is Indianapolis Colts first round draft choice Clark, who was named the best tight end in college football last fall, was picked by the Indianapolis Colts in the opening round. He was the 24th pick overall. "It's awesome. I couldn't ask for a better team to go to. Right now I'm going to bring in a great attitude, work hard and do whatever they want me to do,"Clark said at a press conference held Saturday evening.  Indianapolis officials say Clark fits their need for a pass receiving tight end in their two tight end offensive formation. Clark caught 81 passes in two seasons at Iowa for 1,281 yards and eight touchdowns. "He was at the top of our wish list," Colts president Bill Polian said at the gathering. "We've been holding our breath for a couple of days. We're getting a heck of a football player." "We think Dallas is a big play guy," Colts head coach Tony Dungy said. "We are exceptionally happy to have him. He brings a lot to the table for our team."
