The 2002 contingent comprises of 16 Army Cadets and one Air Force Cadet, competing with the aid of two civilian coaches from Sydney High School Rifle Club and Cairns Rifle Club. "This is a great opportunity for the cadets to compete and demonstrate their skills," Fran Bailey said. "The cadets will continue a tradition which began when the first team competed in the Coronation Contingent in 1911. "I would like to wish the cadets good luck for the competition," she said. The team will compete from 22 June to 19 July 2002, with the visit hosted by the Ministry of Defence UK and the Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting UK. The Cadet shooting competition commenced at Bisley in 1886. The Bisley Tour involves three competitions: the British Inter-Services Cadet Rifle Meeting, the Schools Meeting and the Golden Jubilee Imperial Queens Competition. As part of the Tour, the Cadets have been invited to attend a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace with HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
