Who are we?????
Prepare to be mesmerized by the story of us!
The Rainbows of the Desert Dance Troupe was formed nine years ago by a group of women that felt that they needed an outlet for their artform and to educate others. They began practicing and performing together under the name that we are known by now. Each woman was a positive influence toward the troupe that we are today.
The name of the group is indicative of the plethora of colorful personalities that unite us as one to form the many facets of our style of dance. As the reader you are probably wondering why we began to bellydance in the first place.....hmmmm, sit back and read.

Vella: Vella prefers to remain a mystery.
Fateema: This Red Goddess is one of our newest members. She is thrilled to have found this tribe of sister goddesses to share her enthusiasm for Middle Eastern Dance.
Danae: Danae dances to the eternal rhythm, the heartbeat of the soul. Fast or slow, complex or simple, the dancing continues as the drum beats on.
Ziya: Ziya brings a teenager's perspective to the troupe. She has been performing for nine years and soloing for five. She is particularly fond of the new style of Arabic pop music.
Roxalana: Although Roxalana is experienced in a wide variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz and modern, she prefers the classic Egyptian Raks Sharqi style. She has been dancing with the troupe for the past seven years.
Isaura: When she is not working on this web page, Isaura has always danced. Her entire life has been filled with the graceful sweeping moves of the heart. Belly Dancing is just an extension of those moves.
Miyah: Miyah has enjoyed Middle Eastern dance for the last 11 years, six of which have been with the Rainbows. An accomplished sword dancer, Miyah prefers the era of dance common to the 14th century.
Bedoura: Bedoura has been dancing with the Rainbows for seven years. She is a real "Hair Raiser"-those who know her understand this meaning.
Ilanah: Ilanah has been involved in Middle Eastern Dance for the past six years. Until recently with Danse Arabesque in Kansas. She was happy to find a wonderful new family in the Rainbows of the Desert.
Shahara: Shahara is the exotic princess of the Nile.
Kadriya: Eventhough she has been dancing for a few years, Kadriya is another one of the newest members of the troupe.
