Well it was a very long 2 week vacation from the race scene. I think most made it back and really enjoyed themselves tonight.
Team WildChild started out the evening in high spirits, great running cars, great postion on the track, and spots in the main features.
To start with Manny started out in heat #1 with his new car looking good and sounding great. However I don't think he was quite used to the new car and was unable to place for a feature.
By the time the consulation race came around Manny had a feel for the car and took the checkered flag in first place to win a spot in the D-main. After becoming a sandwich Manny was unable to finish the race due to mechanical troubles late in the feature.
Donnie got an early jump in heat 2 to dominate the race winning his spot in the A-main.
After a near miss with a collision in the center, running in second place, Donnie blew a tire and was unable to finish the race.
Larry, the newest member to the team, back for a second race drew heat 5 where he put on a great show. After a great show of talent, speed and determination, Larry crossed the finish line in second place, putting him in the B-main. And his family on the edge of their seats. Larry came back in the B-main with serious determination but was unable to place in the top 3. Great racing guys!!
As usual this is where I take a few words to point out those brave guys who take a roll and walk away with the only thing harmed is their pride well..... maybe their ego as well.
Car #53P took a hard hit in the intersection from car 07 while running a hard first place , and flipped on to his side in the 4th heat.
Car 21D rolled to his roof in the 1st consulation race.
It was 8X in the second consulation who took a total roll over.
The large tires marking the track always make for an interesting evening. It was car #20 who took a ride to the top of the pile in his heat race. He was able to get off the tires with out any assistance.
I want to pay special recogonition to car 20 tonight. After driving to the top of the tire pile, he came back for a consulation race, started in the back of the line, finished in first place, placing him in the D-main. Where he again was at the back of the line. With strong determination and the feel of winning in his vains he faught to finish in 1st place in the D-main. Great racing!!
It was car 34 who looked like a teeter totter in the C-main when he went up on the tires.
