ACT TEAM Councillor Kerrie Christian proposed that the new incoming Lord Mayor be invited to sign the Charter of the People of the City of Wollongong and also the City's Statement on Aboriginal Reconciliation - to be considered at Wollongong Council's August 26 2002 meeting. Additionally Cr Christian has suggested that both of these statements be featured prominently on Wollongong Council's website


ITEM 5 - NOTICE OF MOTION - COUNCILLOR K CHRISTIAN - NEW LORD MAYOR - CHARTER OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF WOLLONGONG - REPORT OF MANAGER FINANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (JKD) 21/8/02

Councillor Christian has submitted the following Notice of Motion -

1 On the election of the incoming Lord Mayor, that she/he be invited to sign a copy of the Charter of the People of the City of Wollongong, and also the City's Statement on Aboriginal Reconciliation, and that their fellow Councillors be invited to sign - affirming and bearing witness to the Lord Mayor's signing of these documents.

2 These documents be displayed on the following Council web page - http:www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/about/ along with, and to complement, the following statements on Vision, Mission and Corporate Values, i.e. Vision, Mission and Values -

Our Vision -

To be a community focused local authority of excellence.

Our Mission -

To enhance our community's lifestyle and environment through effective leadership, community involvement and commitment to service.

Our Corporate Values -

In everything we do, we will always -

* Assess our community's needs and respond to them;

372 RESOLVED on the motion of Councillor Christian seconded Councillor Mott that -
