At the end of "Tearin' Up My Heart", on the very last note (the BOOM!) Lancie always flips his head up like he's tossing his hair back. This action resembles that of Ariel in "The Little Mermaid", when she crawls up on the rock and the waves splash around her. Lance may say that his favorite cartoon character is Taz, but it's really Ariel. This is where it all began...
One day when Lance needed some extra cash for birth control pills, he decided to drag his guitar down to Sunset Boulevard and sing for the crowd. He put his cowboy hat on the sidewalk to collect the cash. All that he collected was 3 cents, ABC gum, and a torn business card. But this business card changed Lance's life forever.
Lance immediately called the number from his cell phone and within 10 minutes a drunken clown named Bunky staggered over. He whipped out his paints and started on Lance's cheek, working the volcano zit into the masterpiece. When Lance saw the finished work, he was so excited and hurried home to show the rest of the guys.
When Lance burst through the door, all 4 guys were standing by the door with their jackets on to go to Hooters. When Justin saw the mermaid painted on Lance's cheek he asked him mad:
"What the hell is all over yo ugly face?"
Lance said "But wait you haven't even seen the best part!!" With that he smiled and the four guys watch Ariel's fins flap in the creases.
No longer being able to hold in his anger, Joey attacked Lance and threw him on the ground. On cue, Chris and Justin held Lance's arms down while Joey punched him in the face. JC quickly ran to the kitchen to grab some Extra Strength Lysol and sprayed it directly on Lance's cheek.
Lance squealed in pain because he hadn't gotten to take a picture of Ariel yet. Ariel's colors dripped off Lance's face and onto his white sundress. As soon as the boys were finished, they left Lance crying in a pool of paint.
The following morning, JC drug Lance out of his pink silk sheets at 4:30 am, snapped his training bra, and asked him what the hell he was thinking. Then he proceeded with a list of 5, 987 reasons of why that was just using poor judgment and how he expected more from Lance. Meanwhile, the 3 other members of the group snickered in bed.
Later that afternoon, Lance called Bunky for an appointment. He then proceeded for the next 2 months to get the exact same design painted on his face. No matter how many broken bones the other guys gave him, Lance met his daily appointment with Bunky. In order to stop this, the guys compromised and allowed Lance to perform his now famous move at the end of "Tearin' Up My Heart".
