Back in October, our friend Eileen got us tickets to the SDSU concert. The seats were great, although we would have been happy even in the very last row.
When the day to fly to California finally came, we were so excited! The concert was all that we could talk about! When we got there, we went shopping at a Sam Goody in the Fashion Valley mall to buy *N SYNC stickers and posters. You will never believe what happened-the guy behind the counter, a Marilyn Manson fanatic, had 2 tickets to the concert on the floor in the 4th row that he didn't want..so guess who got the tickets for free??
On the day of the concert, we arrived extra early(the concert started at 8:00 and we pulled in at 12:00!). A local radio station was there to give away tickets..surrounded by little girls wearing homemade shirts and wife beaters with " I love Justin" painted on them. We met some little girls that had backstage passes and we were almost able to talk them into giving them to us..we had the passes in our hands!!
You would not believe some of the girls there...one chick had a bouquet of baby blue balloons for Justin's birthday and was crying to the security guards that she had to give them to him herself. We also met 5 girls wearing generic FUBU shirts with the "05" on them and "Bass", "Timberlake", etc. written on the backs, with the guys favorite color. How tacky!
When 7:30 rolled around, we fought with the masses to get in the concert. Everyone else was either a 5th grader or a parent..there was no in between age group.
When we finally made it in, y'all will never believe who we met!! Jheri!! We talked to him and made him feel like he was the biggest stud and that we came just to see his guitar playing skills...he even gave us tickets to sold out concerts and promotions later that week, but we couldn't go because we had to come home. It was cool, but he had some major B.O. problems and he was the "Whoa! Totally gnarly, dude!!" type. Uhh...rock on!
When we got to our seats, we had to fight away some hoochies that were in the wrong row (" Oh! You mean this isn't section XQR, row 39??") After about 10 minutes, B*Witched came on, and after 10 more minutes, Britney Spears was on. Both were okay, but after all of Britney's training..shouldn't she be able to dance!??! When they were done, Britney's dancers came and sat in the row in front of us!
Then came our boys!! We can't tell you what order the songs were in cause we were a little preoccupied with other things. The screaming never stopped!
Joey saw us!! All the girls in front of us were way shorter and whenever the lights came on, they shined on us, so we waved to Joey a couple times and he waved back. We weren't sure whether or not it was to us, so we stuck out our tongues at him and HE DID IT BACK!! A LOT!! We love Joey now for making the concert the best day of our lives!!
The outfits were fabulous! The first ones were the white spacesuits and they did a Janet Jackson dance with helmets on so we couldn't really tell who was who. Next they came out in matching outfits like the tearin' up my heart part on Disney..very nice!! Lance still can't dance though..I'm sorry but it was horrible!!
They did the thing with the super soakers (we got wet!!) and some chick did it back to Chris...he was soo mad!!! He gave her the dirtiest look!
Justin came out by himself and did this adorable thing with his voice..ya know..the beatbox thing! Along with it, he did a striptease type dance..we even saw his happy trail!!
Then the rest of the guys came out wearing different outfits...of course Joey was decked out in Superman stuff.
During "For the Girl Who Has Everything", we yelled "Justin, your zipper's down!" and he looked at us and laughed and pointed!!! It was adorable!
The rest of the concert is a blur...it was sooo good! The only thing is that they never performed "Sailing"..JC must have been in trouble with the rest of the guys and that was his punishment!
After the concert, we stopped to get gas and all the sudden we heard sirens and saw a tour bus. We feel really bad about this, but we didn't pay for the gas--we had to follow them!! We ended up on the freeway and pulled up next to them...Justin, Lance, and Joey all looked at us and laughed and waved. We tried to follow them, but lost them in traffic.
It was the best day of our lives!! We are going to add concert pictures when we get them developed and scanned!
