Fight 100+ Level Pokemon Submitted
by a ton of readers
I was reluctant to post this code because of the effect it would have
on two player battles, that is it was almost like cheating. If you do decided
to use these in battle, the other player should know about it. Okay, here
goes. Perform the 99 Items code below, then after encountering 'M, keep
surfing around for a while and you will run into Pokemon that are Lv 135
and above! It is possible to capture them. What's so valuable about this
trick is that you might just run into Bulbasaurs, Charmaders and Squirtles!
However, some copies of the game can do this better than others, and if
you use the Pokemon in a battle other than a 2 player battle, it will revert
back to a Lv. 100 Pokemon. Still, defeating these high level Pokemon is
a quick way to earn up to 3000 Exp. Points!
Get Over 99 of Any Item (Without a Game Shark!) Submitted
by BowlerMan5@aol.com & Josh Nickerson
This code is actually comprised of several different codes sent in
by readers. Alone, they're not as exciting, but put them together
and you have the code you've been waiting for! And here's how you do it!
First, return back to Viridian City and talk to the man who taught you
how to catch a Weedle (he is near the Gym where you face Giovanni). Reply
"No" to his question, then watch him catch a Weedle. Then, place the item
you want 99 of as number six from the top (we recommend Rare Candy or the
Master Ball if you still have it). To switch items, press Select while
pointing to an item, then move the arrow where you want the item to go
and push Select again. Both items will switch places. Now, FLY back
to Cinnabar Island and start SURFING along the east coast of Cinnabar like
in the Missingno. code below. This time, however, you will face a different
messed up Pokémon, with a name comprised of symbols and the letter
M (players refer to him as M). Defeat him or run away but do NOT capture
it. When it is defeated, you will have over 100 of the sixth item on your
list! The number will actually be a symbol followed by a number If you
want to repeat this trick, you'll need to talk to the man again. Keep in
mind that you may be surfing for a while before you face M. This trick
also works when you capture Missingno. However, since this uses parts of
the Missingno code, there will be some side effects (look at the Missingno
code below). You can also duplicate expensive items and sell them back
to earn lots of money! Thanks to all the players who sent in codes!
Missingno. Pokémon #000 Submitted
by Phillip Braham & Michael Ochs
First have a Pokémon with surf. Go in the first door inside
the Pokémon lab on Cinnabar Island and trade with one of the trainers
in there. Then surf along the east coast of Cinnabar Island, half on water,
half on land. Eventually you will fight a bird called Missingno. (the fourth
legendary bird?). It does lots of damage but is easy to defeat. It looks
like a mass of dots flying around. just throw balls at it to catch it.
Be warned, having this Pokémon can crash your Hall of Fame and mess
up the graphics (all your Pokémon and the enemy Pokémon can
get all warped in battle). It is number 000 in the Pokédex and doesn't
have an entry. it has a high attack but all its other stats are really
low. If you have an older model Gameboy (not Color or Pocket versions)
you may risk your game by catching it.
Fight Safari Pokémon Elsewhere Submitted
by NovaAngelX & AtomicG64@aol.com & jpar72@gateway.net
To fight and capture Safari Zone Pokémon outside of the park,
first go into the Safari Zone. Let the time run out when you're standing
in a patch of grass which holds the Pokémon you want to catch. Step
back outside and use FLY to Fly back to Cinnabar Island. Using SURF, surf
up and down the right side of the shoreline, where you are half on shore
and half in the water. You should then enter some battles with Safari Zone
Pokémon! No more bait or rocks! It's sleep and Psybeam time! This
also works with other areas of the game where you find wild Pokémon.
Experiment and see what happens!
Clone Pokémon (US) Submitted
by Kingmog55
You need a friend for this. Trade the Pokémon to be cloned and
have you friend get a Pokémon they don't care about. Trade them,
and make sure the person getting the weak and common Pokémon can
see the other's screen. When the receiver of the good Pokemon's screen
says "waiting", turn off the Game Boy that's getting the bad Pokémon.
When the other one says trade completed, turn that one off too. When you
turn the games back on, you should both have the powerful Pokémon,
but the weak Pokémon will be lost. Warning! This could delete a
saved game or your Pokémon!
Go to sleep!.....OK wake up now! submitted
by Charlie Michaud
If you have a Pokémon who has Rest or if you can get TM44, your
Pokémon can restore all his\her hit points (HP), in a span
of 2 turns! Simply use Rest during battle (the Pokémon will fall
asleep), then during your next turn, play the Poke Flute (Obtained when
you save Mr. Fuji from the tower in the Pokémon Tower) your Pokémon
will wake up ready to go!
Legendary Birds submitted by Cathy
grand@vm.temple.edu
Of all the legendary birds I've found Zapdos is the easiest to capture
(which isn't saying much!) since it is possible to capture it when it has
nothing wrong with its status (such as sleep or paralyze) and it is possible
to capture it when it's health bar is more then just a sliver. Once you
have captured Zapdos you can use it to quickly lower the health level of
Articuno and Moltres (for these last two I needed to reduce their defense
or make them go to sleep to even hit them with a Poké-ball).
Moon Stones Submitted by DuPnt24Kid@aol.com
There are five Moon Stones, three of which are visible, two of which
are not.
1) In the upper-lefthand corner of the first floor of Mt. Moon.
2) In the basement of the game corner.
3) In the bottom-right corner of Route 2 (CUT).
4) In Mt. Moon, before the Supernerd's platform, there is a
corridor 4 spaces long and 1 space wide, go
to the end of it and press A and poof! you have a Moon Stone.
5) In the Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar Island, go up to
the right side of one of the pillars on the
right-hand side near the entrance hit A and it will say you found a
Moon Stone.
Unlimited chances to catch rare Pokémon
submitted by VirusAoD/Anonymus@angelfire.com
Did you ever run into one of those Pokémon that you can only
catch once? Here is a good trick to get as many shots as you want to catch
those Pokémon! First ,find a rare Pokémon such as a Mewtwo.
Then, right before you go into battle with it, save the game at that point.
Finally, you can battle the Pokémon without worrying that you didn't
catch it. If you screw up and you make it faint, just stop where you are
and shut off the game. Then you can turn it back on, select continue and
presto! You should be saved right before getting into battle with the Pokémon!
Better Chance To Capture Pokémon
submitted by Alex/Alexdeh@aol.com
There is a code for the USA version (it might work for the Japanese
version too) to catch Pokémon easier. When you throw a Poké-ball
hold Up and press down the "A" button as it closes on the Pokémon.
The Poké-ball will shut tighter and it will be easier to catch the
Pokémon. This trick will work best with the Ultra Ball.
Harder Hitting Attacks submitted
by Dusty
This code is sorta like the "Better Chance to Catch Pokémon"
code but it's for attack. Just hold the A button while your attacking and
it will do more damage than if you didn't hold A.
Phantom PC Submitted by Pinywize@aol.com
That's right, a Phantom PC. Go to Celadon City, then go south until
you are by the Alley where the Game Corner is. Walk EAST until you are
standing next to a bush. CUT the bush down and go SOUTH to the first building
to the WEST.... this is the People Motel. Enter the Motel and walk NORTH
until you hit the shelf, then walk EAST until you hit the wall. Now walk
DOWN 2 spaces, the walk UP 1 space. Now press A and select something to
do!

It's wierd, but you can fish in statues! Simply use the rod! Sometimes
you can find rare water Pokémon this way.
Even the Odds at Game Corner Submitted
by Andrew Daily/dailya@pop.belmont.edu
In the casino above the guy with the glasses that you usually find
in gyms is a slot machine with great odds. The way I got a Porygon was
simple but still long. Save the game when you hit the jackpot After a while
the game is fixed and you will either get multiple wins, or hit the jackpot-
doing that you eventually start to win several hundred at a time. By hitting
the a button rapidly it sets a pattern to make sure you now when the jackpot
comes up- the slot machine starts to slow down.

Funny Codes Submitted by Wiggy
These codes make the game pretty much silly to play. the only
reason you should use them is to freak out your friends when you use a
level 0 magikarp to blow away their level 100 dragonites.one more thing:
all numbers used here must be in hexidecimal. thus, if you want a
level 50 pokemon, put in 32 for the value. 50 will turn out level
80. If you put in things that would give values higher than the game
is designed
to handle (i.e. 1000 attack), you'll get some pretty funky symbols.
01xx64D1 - change first pokemon into whatever pokemon you
replace xx with
(get numbers from the encounter cheat code chart below)
01648CD1 - set level of first pokemon to 100 (note: if you
know anything
about hexadecimal, you can change the "64" to any number from 00
to FF, or
levels 0 to 255)
01038DD1 and 01E78ED1 - set max hps of first pokemon to 999
01038FD1 and 01E790D1 - set attack of first pokemon to 999
