The Indian Serenade

I arise from dreams of thee
In the first sweet sleep of night,
When the winds are breathing low,
And the stars are shining bright
I arise from dreams of thee,
And a spirit in my feet
Hath led me - who knows how?
To thy chamber window, Sweet!

The wondering airs they faint
On the dark, the silent stream--
The chapak odors fail
Like sweet thoughts in a dream;
The nightingale’s complaint,
It dies upon her heart;
As I must on thine,
Oh, Beloved as thou art!

O lift me from the grass!
I die! I faint! I fail!
Let thy love in kisses rain
On my lips and eyelids pale.
My cheek is cold and white, alas!
My heart beats loud and fast;
Oh! press it to thine own again,
Where it will break at last.

-Percy Bysshe Shelley

You touch my body and I sigh my joy,
It feels to me like girl greeting boy.
I close my eyes, to hide my blush...
Kissing you makes my skin tingle and flush.

I touch your face and then your shoulder,
Your touches are suddenly sweeter and bolder,
Your eyes reach deep into my soul...
I can't hide...there is no place to go.

The years melt away, oh, so sweet,
We are warmed by our love's heat,
We strip away all our walls...
Answering all our natural calls.

Some say Love is oft times blind,
Some call Heaven "a state of mind,"
Heaven, my love, is in your eyes...
In our love there will be no good-byes.

Inside your eyes I become very weak
I open my eyes to sneak a peek,
You smile deep, deep into my soul...
Hanging on with emotions I can't let go.

I begin to glow and then I shine
Slowly I begin to lose my mind.
Gentle whispered words into my heart...
saying this moment is just the start.

Something beautiful, sweet, and true
Is going to be shared by me...and you,
We hail each other deep down to our pride...
Vowing, never our feelings to hide.

We know the world will never understand
Why ever, I took ahold of your hand,
But you and I will always know...
We will never have the need to let go.

The Spirit Of Tears

Moisture of the eyes,
Simultaneous South and North lies.
Placed to the West
Lastly in the East...tears rest.

Why my Creator; the turmoil
Souls buried in the soil
Cries heard all along
Only forgotten, not gone.

Voices in the wind come
Beating like a drum.
Memory of heartache
Visions there to take.

Understand, think back
Such reasoning I lack.
A warrior's pain and pride.
To myself I have lied.

All the while like a game
Waiting and trapped by shame.
I am one like the red man
The Spirit has said "I am."

A long time ago, when the world was new
God and the Great Spirit had a dream
for me and you.

They placed together on Grandmother Earth...
Children of two colors to earn their worth.
A river placed between the two,
The did all this for me and you.

Carefully planned, their lives commenced...
All the odds seemed stacked against
Struggling everyday to just survive,
The weather, the animals, and human nature connived,

It seemed though this could not be...
But they did it all for you and me.
The children of the dawn, we are,
We have all traveled so very far.

With us we have brought our love...
God and the Great Spirit smile on us from above.

I Love You

I love your lips when they’re wet with wine
And red with a wild desire;
I love your eyes when the lovelight lies
Lit with a passionate fire.
I love your arms when the strands enmesh
Your kisses against my face.

Not for me the cold, calm kiss
Of a virgin’s bloodless love;
Not for me the saint’s white bliss,
Nor the heart of a spotless dove.
But give me the love that so freely gives
And laughs at the whole world’s blame,
With your body so young and warm in my arms,
It sets my poor heart aflame.

So kiss me sweet with your warm wet mouth,
Still fragrant with ruby wine,
And say with a fervor born of the South
That your body and soul are mine.
Clasp me close in your warm young arms,
While the pale stars shine above,
And we’ll live our whole young lives away
In the joys of living love.

All Paths Lead To You

All paths lead to you
Where e'er I stray,
You are the evening star
At the end of day.

All paths lead to you
Hilltop or low,
You are the white birch
In the sun's glow.

All paths lead to you
Where e'er I roam.
You are the lark-song.
Calling me home!

At Nightfall

I need so much the quiet of your love
After the day's loud strife;
I need your calm all other things above
After the stress of life.

I crave the haven that in your dear heat lies,
After the toils is done;
I need the starshine of your heavenly eyes,
After the day's great sun.

Like a lovely flower
That opens with the sun,
Love freely shares
It's beauty
And it's joys with everyone...
The radiant glow
Of happiness
That only love can give
Surrounds two hearts
And makes the world
A brighter place to live.

The Song Of a Dream

Now, my friends, please hear:
It is the song of a dream:
Each Spring the gold young corn
Gives us life;
The ripened corn gives us refreshment;
To know that the heart of our friends
Are true is to put around us
A necklace of precious stones.

The Grass On The Mountain

Oh, long long
The snow has possessed the mountains.

The deer has come down and the big-horn,
they have followed the sun to the South
To feed on the mesquite pods and the bunch grass.
Loud are the thunderdrums
In their tents of the mountains.
Oh, long long
Have we eaten chia seeds
And dried deer's flesh of the summer killing.
We are wearied of our huts
And the smoke smell of our garments.

We are sick with the desire of the sun
And the grass on the mountain,

White Floating Clouds

White floating clouds,
Clouds like the plains,
Come and water the earth.
Sun embrace the earth, That she may be fruitful.

Moon, lion of the North,
Bear of the West,
Badger of the South,
Wolf of the East,
Eagle of the heavens,
Shrew of the earth,
Elder war hero,

Warriors of the six mountains of the world,
Intercede with the cloud people for us
That they may water the earth.
