The
Atomic Dog
I
spent three weeks in
Michigan for a
school on the test
equipment for new
computer systems in
armored-vehicles
that I work on.
The
end of the school
day was 3:00pm so we
ended up with a lot
of extra time on our
hands.
Across
the street from the
hotel we were
staying in, is a
building that has a
sports cafe, a
bowling alley and a
night-club in
it. The name
of the club is
the Atomic
Dog. I ended
up buying a
sketchpad while up
there and spent a
couple of night over
there
drawing....
This
is the logo for the

Just
a drawing to work on
my shadowing.
I don't remember for
sure, put I do not
believe that this
was done at the
club.. |
|
Just
a woman sitting at
the bar... She
wasn't moving
(watching TV I
think) so I decided
that she would be my
first victu----
model. She
left while I was
still touching it up
and never knew that
I had drawn her.
While
I was working on it,
there was a guy that
would look over from
time to time to try
and see what I was
doing. When I
was done I showed
him and he showed it
to his woman-friend
that was there with
him... they both
said they remember
seeing the woman
sitting at the bar |

The
guy pointed out and
suggested that I
draw his other
friend that had come
over and talked with
them a little
earlier. The
next time she come
over I started
drawing...
I
don't know if they
were talking to her
to keep her there or
if she was staying
on her own. I
had thought she had
known that I was
drawing her... but
when I showed the
guy and he showed it
to her, she
blushed... Guess she
hadn't known! |

Just my empty glass
of pop. There
club was slowing
down and no one was
striking my fancy.
So....... |
|
This night was swing
night. I had
been trying to draw
this girl that had
the whole poodle
skirt and pig-tails
outfit thing going
on, but she just
never stopped...
This guy come in
and I got a kick out
of his out fit so I
just had to draw
him. |

This is Rachel
Gould. She is
the only one that
knew I was drawing
her before I was
done. I talked
to her and asked her
if she would, when
she wasn't dancing
to stand so that I
could see her.
After I finished and
showed it to her, I
had her write her
name on it. |
