I have another friend that saw my drawings while I was home in December.  She asked me to draw a bear for her, for a tattoo.  I decided that I would give it a try.  I need the challenge that it will pose.  What will make it so challenging for me is that I will be drawing for someone other than myself.  Another thing is that she wants it to be in color.  Not something I am know for doing.  The coloring of the dragon was done when I was completely done drawing it, and then only as an after thought.  (Wish I had thought better of it, I don't like the way the coloring turned out.)  Anyway, below you will be able to follow along as I work on the drawing for her.

First attempt at the bear.  I drew it very light in case I need to erase or change anything about it.

Well she liked the previous bear.  But unfortunately it looked more like a grizzly bear, and she wants a black bear.  So here I have changed the bear a little and added a tree to the background and some very light mountains.  Yes.  She does plan on getting everything in the drawing done in the tattoo.

I decided that the previous mountains REALLY sucked so I changed them.  These will be snow covered, and there are some rolling hills in front of them.  I need to find some better pictures to show me a "black" bear so that I can get it right.  Library here I come.

I finally did some more work on the bear.  Haven't gotten any approval or disapproval yet.  I also darkened the picture a little more so that everything could be seen better and fixed a perspective error on the tree.
