Hello...
I
was born in La Mesa, California and raised in Dulzura, California, a small
town South-East of San Diego. So small, that all town consists of,
is a Post Office, Cafe and a cattle guard. The summer before my
Junior year, we went to visit my sister in Richfield, Idaho. While
there, my mom decided she liked it in Idaho and started looking for a
house. She found a nice little house for rent in a town called
Jerome. So after living in the same house for 16 and 1/2 years I had
to move to a whole new state. I started my Junior year at Jerome
high school, where I met William. While he was gone to school for
the Army, I went back to California for my Senior year, where I graduated
a semester early.
I
enjoy dancing, although I've never had any formal training. I was on
drill team my freshmen and sophomore years. We competed in the
Mother Goose parade and I believe we placed 3rd. We were suppose to
have gone to a competition at Six Flags Magic Mountain, but we were unable
to attend due to the L.A. riots. I took a beginning dance
class at school my sophomore year (in place of PE). I tried out to
be in advanced dance my Junior year, but since we moved I wasn't able to
take the class. Lucky for me, they had a drill team in Jerome and
tryouts at the beginning of the year to get a few more people. I
made the team, it was a lot different then the one in California! We
went to two competition, we had two routines and both routines placed at
both competitions.
My
newest past time is collecting and trading Beanie Babies. For the longest time, I resisted the bite of "The
Beanie Bug". My neighbor had it bad. She and her son would
stand in line for hours, trying to get the newly released Beanies.
Honestly I thought she was a little silly for allowing her son to skip school
to make it to the sales that she couldn't.
The first two Beanies that I bought were Nanook and
Hippity.
I had gone in the the post toy store and they were on one of the end caps.
I couldn't decide which I wanted, so I let my kids pick for me. Well,
since the kids picked them out, they thought that the beanies were theirs.
It was probably close to six months before we bought any
more. My husband had been wanting to get me a kitten, but wasn't having
any luck find one that he didn't feel was already too old. We had gone
to one of the other posts in Germany trying to find Christmas presents for the
kids. We came across a bin of Beanies near a shoe department. He
decided, that since he couldn't find me a real kitten, that one of these would
have to do. So we bought me Prance. And just after Christmas '98
my husband saw and had to have Dobby (he used to have a Doberman).
About three months later, I was
hooked and my collection has grown quite a bit since then. I am
always
on the look- out for new Beanies. I also try to get some of the older
and harder to get
Beanies by trading online. To see what I have done to try and make
trading with me a little easier, please visit my Beanie
Chest. |
