this takes place in the OAV reality just after the rescue of Ryoko from DR. Clay and her assimilation with Zero and will quickly become an alternate reality.

Tenchi Muyo: Wings of the Light Hawk Prologue

Washu was working in her lab late at night she was building a device to have some fun with everyone in the house when her head was wracked by a splitting pain she grabbed it fell over and remembered.

A time when herself and her two beloved sisters ruled over several dimensions but all good things must come to an end she thought bitterly as time went on Tokimi and Tsunami began to fight often to escape their constant bickering I had started observing a universe far from their on so far she doubted the others even knew about it. The place that captured her interest the most was something called the Universal Science Academy she knew everything so she was facinated by the joy these mortals showed when ever they found or invented something new she longed to join them as a mortal and join in that joy but she couldn't abandon her sisters.

One day while she was observing her pet universe as she called it she heard a scream she quickly joined her sisters to find Tsunami gravely injured it wouldn't kill her but it was close she watched in shock as Ten Wings of the Light Hawk appeared around her younger sister and lance out striking Tokimi Tsunami then fled threw the still open portal to her pet universe she didn't know why but she closed the portal before Tokimi could see it. "Sister," Tokimi said "Tsunami betrayed us we must find and deal with her" I had never heard my sister so cold "I will search Universes in down those corridors" I answered pointing to the universes that led to her favorite "and you search the universes down those corridors" I steered her far away from Tsunami and my favorite Universe I don't know why but I didn't want my sisters to fight.

I went to my universe preparing to seal my power in three small gems but I couldn't shake the nagging fear I could lose them so I built a back up my mortal body would recreate my power over thousands of years little did I know I would pass that gift to my daughter that is how Ryoko created the fake gems I understand now. I sealed my memories so I could learn to love this thing they called science and sat my self down outside of the Universal Science Academy. I decided that I would only remember if there was a need.

Washu looked over all her life with these new insights gained by her restored memories she realized she had been a terrible mother and that her daughter deserved better than she had gotten "I will be a good mother" Washu vowed.

As she made her plans to show Tenchi her daughter softer side she thought if I remember does that mean Tokimi is coming she continued her work this mess needs to be resolved before Tokimi gets here.
