SPECIAL STAR

The night sheds such darkness
the rain ever so calming a storm
My thoughts turn to the day that you
weren't given a chance to be born

I sit in the darkness staring straight into the night
Humming those nursery rhymes, holding my belly so tight
If only the pain would be no more
My mind would be at ease just like before

The night sheds such darkness
as the news of losing a life
The stars keep on shinning
though ever so bright

I now realize by looking at the stars
That one certain one that sparkles afar
Is the star I had named to be used here on earth
Now resides in heaven and her name is rebirth

I know GOD plays with my child everyday
He had his reasons for taking her away
The night sheds such darkness
although I see light
You'll see them all playing
Just look one special night

A Child's Angel

Once apon a time there was a child ready to be born.
So one day the child asked God

They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?

Among the many angels, I chose one just for you.
She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.

But tell me, here in heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile,
that's enough for me to be happy.

Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day.
And you will feel your angel's love and be happy.

And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me,
if I don't know the language that men talk?

Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear,
and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.

And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?

Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.

I've heard that on earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?

Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.

But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.

Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you
the way for you to come back to me, even tough I will always be next to you.

At that moment there was peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already
be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly;
Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.

Your angel's name is of no importance, you will call your angel: Mommy

Our Angels Are Watching

Memories we have, make us laugh-
To knw they are safe and free of pain -- makes us smile.
the sadness creeps in -- we miss them so,
But, Our Angels Are Watching.
Joyful times we all had, hard times we endured.
The lessons of life must be learned -
the hardest one is learning to let them go.
A journey so beautiful, only they know.
to say good-bye is really not true.
For we know they will always be near.
Their spirits will rise above others, you think you hear their voices,
Only to turn and see, it is only you standing there.
the memories and love will surround us,
they will get us through the moments of fear --
the many days of longing for "just one more touch".
to hear their voices whisper "I Love You".
Cherish the times we shared, the memories we have made --
The moments of laughter, even the trickle of tears.
Together, we will get through the pain.
One moment at a time, will heal our hearts.
To know they will always be near --
Remeber --
Our Angels Are Watching.

Guardian Angel

A guardian angel flew down from above,
To teach me a lesson about the powers of love.

She whispers to me, take a hold of my hand,
There are some many things I wish you to understand.

About the powers of love, and all it can do.
To someone who needs to share it with you.

A pat on the back, a kind smile on your face,
Can make someone's life a much brighter place.

It doesn't take much, to show someone you care,
To give them the love, God gave you to share.

So please keep in mind, all the powers you possess,
To grace someone's life, when they're in distress.

You've been put on this earth to bestow the powers of love,
And with those final words, she disappeared up above.

After A While

After a while you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman
not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today,
Because tommorows ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
And after a while,
you learn that even sunshine burns,
if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth,
And you learn....
With every goodbye, you learn.

IS HEAVEN IN THE YELLOW PAGES

Mommy went to heaven, but I need her here today,
My tummy hurts and I fell down, I need her right away.

Operator can you tell me how to find her in this book?
Is heaven in the yellow part, I don't know where to look.

I think my daddy needs her too, at night I hear him cry.
I hear him call her name sometimes, but I really don't know why.

Maybe if I call her, she will hurry home to me.
Is heaven very far away, is it across the sea?

She's been gone a long, long time she needs to come home now!
I really need to reach her, but I simply don't know how.

Help me find the number please, is it listed under "Heaven"?
I can't read these big big words, I am only seven.

I'm sorry operator, I didn't mean to make you cry,
Is your tummy hurting too, or is there something in your eye?

If I call my church maybe they will know.
Mommy said when we need help, that's the place to go.

I found the number to my church tacked up on the wall.
Thank you operator, I'll give them a call.

THE LAST PRAYER

A little girl lay awake one night
Alone in a hospital bed,
She closed her eyes and prayed to GOD
And this is what she said.
"Don't let Daddy be too sad,
And don't let mommy cry
Help Annie not to be lonely,
And not to be shy.
Give my dolls to the little girls,
Who need someone to hug
And give my bear to the boy at school
Who always sits alone on the rug,
Take the flowers beside my bed,
And give then to someone who needs
A cheering up, a brighter day,
Or has a yard all filled with weeds"
And as a single tear rolled down her cheek
And with the last breath she drew
She said, "Oh, and GOD,
I want my wings to be blue."

A Mother's Prayer

In the quiet of the night, I watch you sleep.

As I tuck you in and savor the gentle sounds.
I glance through the window and whisper out loud.

God, have I been the Mother You wanted me to be.
Have I held my children up and taught them to see.

Have I shown them that love should always be shared.
Have I taught them compassion and reasons to care.

Have I explained the values by which You want us to live.
Have I taught them humility and reasons to give.

Have I shown them that life can't always be fair.
Have I taught them that You will always be there.

As I glance through the window You help me to see
That I am being the best Mother that I can possibly be.
