I was just ready to go out for school at 6 am. when I realised that Milo is missing from her cage. The cage door was open. I was worried, but I cannot stay to look for her. I need to go to school. I spent the whole day thinking about her. Apparently my mum had forgotten to "lock" the door with the wire, and she had opened the door(she practised by chewing the door frequently), and jumped down the used washing machine that she was put on in the balcony. Luckily, she cannot jump out the balcony. The wall was high (I have heard many stories of hammie suicides by jumping down the balcony).

I rushed home to look for her after school, giving up the chance to go and visit teachers at my primary school(it was Teacher's Day tommorow). I lived in flats, on the 11th floor. I ran up the stairs, down too, along the corridors of others but to no avail. I gave up hope. She's gone.

The next morning,a Sunday, my brother woke me up. "Milo's back!" I was quite surprised. My brother explained. I found out that my mother had told a 13th floor neighbour about the escape, and just in luck, her husband found Milo at the 13th floor when he got home late at night. He gave it to someone who lives nearby with chickens. Luckily, we got her back. How did she mananged to struggle up the steps for 2 storeys- 4 flights of steps! The wonders of a determined hamster! There's nothing wrong with her except for blackened feet :)!
