The Leaf
Once it's our turn to wander
In our fight for wealth and fame
How easy, really, is the fact

Life continues its drift
As a breath, a thought, a dream
Never stumbling - ever swift
Perseverant, free, endless...
We forget our purpose here
And we strive for all that's yonder
Caressing the fickle, hurting the dear
Merciless, shortsighted, relentless...
We combat nature's call
In our struggle to make our name
Unconsciously, we fall
Deep, hard, blowing...
That life is but a leaf
Unscathed by any fleeting act
Flying through joy and grief
Never wavering - ever flowing
