My favorite Napoleonic miniatures games have been 1/72 plastic General de Brigade games. I've used the 25mm basing with my plastics, but there are negative aspects to this approach; the figures look awfully sparse when they take up the same amount of room that is reserved for a beefy 28mm+ figure, and to fight a decent-sized battle I'd need a 9'x5' table.
I toyed with the idea of rebasing some of my 15mm Napoleon's Battles figures, but I hate to rip them off their nice bases.
About a year ago I saw a nice review of some 6mm figures on Dal and Mike's now-defunct site. The figures looked crude, but I thought a good paint job would make a world of difference.
So I ordered some 6mm figures from Baccus in Great Britain.
Ordering overseas is not the easiest process in the world, but the owner,
Peter Berry, is a very friendly guy who went out of his way to make it
easier. He was able to custom build battalion packs for me.
The figures you see below cost £3.07, or about $5.00. That's
terrific for a French battalion, even cheaper than plastics!
