Cold Calling What I have found that works. Is attaching a not to your catalogue with name number and that you will be back on ie Tuesday at noon, to pick up catalogue and any orders. I usually give about three days. It's enough time for viewing and for them not to forget about it. Those who need longer ask. If they are not going to be home I ask that they leave it in the mailbox.

I have found that a very effective way to get new leads is to "wear" my advertisement. I almost always wear something, pin, tshirt, button, etc. that names my company or business. And, I find that the smaller items sometimes gets attention that surprizes me. For instance, a tiny heart charm on a chain around my neck, with the name of my company engraved on it, gets a lot of attention. This has been one of my best way of prospecting for new leads.
Yellow Pages
My best and most steady source of leads has been my yellow pages ad. (The
ad is free with my business phone line.) I'm not sure if it would be the
same for other types of companies, but for mine (skin care/cosmetics), it's
really paid off. Women who love my product line, but for whatever reason
have lost their previous consultant, find me in the yellow pages. Others
who may not have heard of my company, but see my listing under the
"cosmetics" heading have called to inquire about what I have to offer. The
leads I get from the yellow pages are the serious ones, who call to
actually
place an order or to sign up as a consultant.

Have an Impression 2qt picture with whistle straws in it. Tie key rings and magnets to these whistle straws. When you start your party say this is my hostess bouquet. My hostess gets to choose one of these just for having a party. Now I know all of you want these cool magnets and keychains, but you have to have a party. Then go on to the rest of the demo. It's been working great. Lynn Deardorff
