Tips for Managers!
Recognition Contest!
A prize (a bag of microwave popcorn) to the recruit(s) who held a party
for a hostess with red hair.
A prize to the recruit(s) who held a party in the ritziest neighborhood.
A prize to the recruit(s) who had the funniest calamity happen to them
or guests at a party.
A prize to the recruit(s) who had the most men at a party.
A prize to the recrt(s) who held a party the furthest away from her
home.
A prize to the recruit(s) who actually had popcorn served as a snack at
the party.
A prize to the recruit(s) who shared the spotlight with the most
animals. (example - the hostess had 10 cats)
Brainstorming
To get ideas "popping":
As the recruits sit there, the leaders can serve pop and popcorn (maybe
even pop-tarts?) - (like flight attendants)
Have music playing to get the mood upbeat.
Baby Name Alphabet Game
Letter a paper from A-Z. Write down as many people (acquaintances,
friends, relatives) as you can, whose names begin with A, with B, with
C, etc....
Give about 5 minutes...
The leader will read off one name for each letter. The one who matches
the most - wins.
However, in this case, everybody wins! They now have a list of people
to talk to about their business. Some people they may have forgotten
about.
Questionza Poppin'
Well, folks, that is a great saying. We all know there are sill some
people out there who will not ask a question as they are afraid.
Hand everyone a white index card or two. Have them write a question or
scenario on the card. Tell them to put NO NAMES on the card.
Collect the cards and read them one by one out loud. As scenarios or
questions come up, the rest of the room can answer.
No one knows who asked, therefore no one should be ashamed. Chances are
there are other people with the same question as well., and that the
question/problem/dilemma will get resolved.
POPPING BUTTONS
"He was so proud, he popped his buttons" (that was a saying, too.)
Go around the room and have each recruit tell about a unique and
different way they booked a party.
It will let everyone have a chance to crow and give ideas to other
people.
Pop Fly
For teamwork: (cooperation - but there is no right or wrong)
(this was taught in my "9-5" company training)
You will need 3 - 4 koosh-balls.
Have participants stand in a circle. The leader stands at the head and
starts the kooshball throw.
Object: to pick someone not at an angle to you, and throw the kooshball
to them (not AT them). They catch it and toss to someone else. At this
time the tosser will put their hand in the air so people know not to
throw the kooshball back to them. The last person throws back to the
leader.
Once you have gone 'round the horn, throw a kooshball again - to the
same people - in the same order. Let it get about 3 people in and throw
the second one. 3 people in, the third ball gets loose. 3 people in
again, let loose the fourth ball if there is one.
Let this continue and you can yell - "Reverse" or "Faster" at any time.
About 2 - 3 minutes should do it.
This is a diversion from the old boring routine and gives a chance to
get the blood flowing and makes for a happy time. Great for getting
people intermingling who do not know each other.
Ladder of Success
Give everyone in your downline a form with a picture of a ladder. Make
the rungs big enough to put a word or words on them.
On the bottom rung, put the word "KIT".
Everyone can shade the area below the rung in.
Now, here is the fork in the road. Do you want to fill in the ladders
rungs with YOUR list of things to do to make it to the top?
OR
Do you want to let the recruit fill in his/her own ladder according to
what they want to accomplish. (Remember, not all people want the same
thing)
OR
You could give everyone a choice.
As accomplishments get met, they shade in the areas below the rung that
the item was on.
You may want to hold this open until the ladder gets filled in, witht he
dates that these items are accomplished. OR you may want to make a
contest out of this for 3 - 6 months.
Whoever has all or the most rungs shaded in, wins a prize (I wish I
knew where you could get ladder pins)

Keeping in touch with Downline
Go to different places and do workshops,
but every week do what I call "meetings in the mail" I have a manila
folder for each week and I use about 4 pages of ideas front & back. I have
labels made up for each person in my down line and when someone new comes
in
I make them up a page of labels. In each I try to have a game, an opening
or flyer idea and an idea on booking recruiting and etc. I mail them once a
week and if anyone new starts I put them in the first file and move them up
with two a week until they catch the rest of the group. I have had some
good comments on it. About every 5 or 6 weeks, I sent them some questions
to answer and tell me what they are using. I believe you have to inspect
what you expect. Any more questions ask away.
Goal setting theme.
Have your cans sealed at the cannery or some place
that vacuum sealed if not just put in a can, Put one of each of these
things listed in each can and the list was enclosed also. The label of the
can listed the contents. For the meeting itself open a can an explain each
item relating it to reaching your goals.

Long Distance Meetings
My team is spread out over 30 states so this is a real
challenge. I personally send an e-mail review after the meeting
detailing all that happened and was shared. I also send all the handouts
to anyone of my direct recruitsd too far to attend (I classify long
distance as greater than 2 hours from the meeting site - the distance I
drive to my uplines meetings). I hold a contest at my meeting for those
long distance gals who sent tips in that month or participated in our
swap. Then the gift is mailed to them. This way they are still a part of
the door prizes. I do a newsletter on the months opposite the meetings
and include their names and any tips received from them so they feel a
part of it.

Baseball Game! Kaye Green
I did it! At my meeting Mon night, we played baseball. I got the idea
from Kaye Green a couple weeks ago. I read thru our reference guide and
our training manual and made up questions that everyone has access to
but might not neccesarily know. I split the room in half and as they
came up to bat they had to answer a question I drew out of a cup. If
they got it right they went to first base if wrong it was a popout.
Three outs and the next team was up. I even had two part questions that
they could earn an extra base. Everyone had a great time. If they missed
a question that question went back in the cup. Even those who usually
talk during meeting listened carefully this time. They were jumping and
cheering and having a ball. The winning team won Tootsie Roll pops. try
it at your next meeting!! Kris/Home Interiors Thanks Kaye
Always offer them 3 things - something for their heart, something
for
their head, and something for their hand - gife love and praise,
give
good and valuable info and training, and feed them - these will
always
give you great results

Custom Parties
I am a Group Leader with Wilton at Home (WAH) and working
towards
Supervisor with 1800PARTYSHop.
I have two team meetings per month for WAH, 1 is a "live
meeting" at my home
and the other is "online" for members of my team that are not
local! I
start each meeting with a motivational talk and recognition for
successes
(even if it is a small success, like making 5 phone calls the
previous
week!). I give out lots of little gifts (stickers from
Directly From The
Heart or The Boosters are always a hit!) and we do role
playing. This
weekend, my "live meeting" will be a BAHAMAS Themed Party...to
kick off our
Recruiting Incentive trip to the BAHAMAS! (and you know I will
be using my
SOUTH SEAS Theme Party from 1800Partyshop!)
Cyndi Godzyk
I use auction money with my local team....they earn it by attending
meetings
(as well as sales, recruiting and reporting) and can spend it every three
months for supplies, new products, movie passes...fun stuff!
Do you allow people to bring their kids. 99% of the time if I can't attend
something, it is because I have no one to watch the kids. What if you paid
a
teen to babysit at the house where the meeting will be held? Set up a room
with videos, toys and snacks. Everyone can chip in a dollar or two to pay
the sitter. I don't know if this is an issue for you guys, but it is for
me.
As far as prizes go, how about a gift certificate for maid service - lol!
