<And I'd give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now>
'One down, the world to go'. Dana thought. It was a welcome relief that her mother knew about Dole. She wasn't sure how she knew but she knew. When she had approached her for the promised talk after Dole left, she just held up her hand and said. "Never mind, honey. I honestly don't want to know. I'm just so happy that he's back. For you and Will."
'It was a good thing too.' Dana grinned, since she won't be able to explain it anyway. Giving her a warm hug, she wished her good night and sweet dreams.
"Yeah right….." The elder muttered back. "…as if I could sleep. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone or something…."
Her daughter resisted a laugh. "I'll tuck Will in."
Shaking her head and giving her a look, she told her. "No, let me do it. Why don't you go meet the eager young man that's lurking outside our house?"
Dana blushed, surprised that her mother was sharp enough to notice that there had been no sounds of the car starting or moving away from the curb even though Dole had said his goodbyes five minutes ago. Nodding awkwardly, she passed her sleepy son to her while kissing him on the forehead.
While Maggie gently carried her grandson upstairs, her daughter softly slipped outside. He was waiting for her beside his car.
"He's so beautiful!" He uncharacteristically gushed when she stepped up to meet him. "For once I'm loss for words. He's just so……. beautiful." There was a burning sensation deep inside and he recognized it as pride.
"That's no surprise." Dana smiled, understanding his emotions perfectly. "He's a part of you."
"And you." He gently added, his eyes sparkling with sudden tears.
"He likes you."
"How can you tell?"
"Well, he didn't bite you." He gave her an incredulous look and she explained. "He's in a biting phase."
"A psychic and a vampire. God, I adore him!"
She laughed but soon sobered. "Mom knows."
He was truly astounded. "How?"
"I don't know." She confessed and teasingly added. "Must have been the psychic bit that gave you away."
He grinned and took a step closer to her. "So does that mean, I don't have to work on your car to see you and Will?"
"Depends. Does that mean that my car is in good shape?"
He looked hurt. "I thought the car was just a cover?"
"Well yeah. But do you know how difficult it is to find a good, honest mechanic these days?" She persisted jokingly.
He could not bear the distance between them any longer and pulled her into his arms. Holding her close, he felt giddy with her overwhelming scent. God, how on earth was he able to work beside her for years once upon a time ago without touching her? He wondered.
"Dole, behave yourself! I have neighbors." She reminded him sternly when he started nibbling on her ear.
He smiled, pulled her away for a second and kissed her on her mouth, immediately banishing any further protests. The moment his lips met hers, she melted like cheese on a hot pan. Images of their passion a few days ago, burned in their minds as they made the most of their current union.
When they finally pulled apart, he breathlessly glanced back at the house. She smiled and shook her head firmly. "No. I can't." He groaned deeply and she laughed, tiptoeing to kiss him on his chin. "Soon, I promise."
He nodded dejectedly and then his face became serious. "There's something you should know."
"What is it?"
"I accidentally dropped my phone this morning, breaking the receiver. There was something in there that shouldn't be."
She frowned. "A bug?"
"I think so. Anyway, I've been more…. careful and I think someone is following me."
"Are you sure?"
"Quite positive." He looked around. "A grey car had been following me the earlier part of the day but it disappeared after I began noticing it."
She looked thoughtful. "Why would they be following you?"
"We still don't know why they gave me this face, Scully."
Sighing, she told him a fear that she had been wishing were impossible. "They might still need you. That's why they made you a nobody so that it'll be easier to take you again. They just didn't count on us finding each other. Explains why they're keeping an eye on you now."
"Why do they still need me?"
"I don't know."
He touched her face, making her lift hers to meet his eyes. "Listen, I want you to check your house, your phones and make sure they're not doing the same thing to you."
"Why would they?"
"I don't know but I don't want anything to happen to you or to Will."
She nodded, realizing that he was right. "Okay. I'll get the Gunmen to check it out."
He gave her a smile, an attempt to cheer up the melancholy mood. "I'd better go." Kissing her gently, he wished her good night and got into his car.

<And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
And sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight>
Maggie Scully wondered what on earth was taking her daughter so long. Delivering a glass of lemonade shouldn't take longer than five minutes. She glanced at her grandson who was looking expectantly at her, a sad look his eyes.
"Hang on, honey. I can't bring you today, but mommy will." She gently told him and muttered to herself. "As soon as she is able to tear herself away from leather wearing hunk in the garage…."
Fifteen minutes later, the kitchen door finally opened and Dana walked in, rather flushed. "Are you okay?" Her mother asked, concerned and pausing from cutting the tomatoes.
"Yeah mom." She blushed further. "Whew! It's hot outside isn't it?" Taking off her overcoat, she slipped it on one of the chairs.
Maggie frowned. "No, it's not. It's almost twenty degrees out there."
She didn't answer and leaned down to kiss her son. "What is it honey?"
Will muttered something like 'park' and pointed outside.
Dana grinned and gave him another kiss. "Just give me a minute to get a drink, okay?"
As she turned around to open the refrigerator door, Maggie's knife stopped in mid-air. 'What on earth….?' She almost blurted out aloud. The back of Dana's light blue top was filthy! Well to be more exact, it seemed to be smudged with ….grease? And the black patterns clearly showed they were made by a set of hands, large hands, dirty hands…. Maggie rolled her eyes. Large, dirty, roving hands of a mechanic.
So that why it took so long for her deliver a drink. She was getting paid for her services and from the looks of it, keeping the change. Unable to help herself, Maggie innocently asked. "So how's John?"
Her daughter almost choked on her juice before replying. "Fine."
"I'm sure he is." Maggie sighed and put down her knife. 'There goes dinner.' She thought and tossed the cut and uncut tomatoes in a bowl. Putting them in the fridge, she told daughter. "I'm too lazy to cook tonight. Let's call for a pizza."
"Sure." Dana was slightly taken aback. "Are you sure? You want me to make dinner?"
"No, we'll just call a pizza." She picked Will up, surprising her further. "I feel like taking Will out to the park, do you mind?"
"No."
"Okay. We'll be gone for an hour." She hesitated and impishly asked. "Is that enough time?"
"What?" Dana was confused.
And Maggie hastily abandoned the tease. "Never mind. Say bye-bye to mommy Will."
"Bye sweetie, have a good time."
After her mother and her son left, Dana took her sip of her lemonade and looked longingly out the window, towards the garage. 'Hmmm, one hour…" She thought.

<And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am>
As she walked into the FBI car park, a van suddenly screeched past her and stopped a meter in front of her. The door opened and Frohike's head popped out to greet her. "Say, what's with the house call? I thought you sent your car to Vinnie's?"
Scully sighed, partly relieved it was just the Gunmen and partly annoyed that they had to make such an elaborate entrance. Luckily for them, there were no witnesses.
Then again, she wasn't surprised. They were probably sure she was alone before showing themselves. Stepping into the van, she closed the door and asked. "Just what other areas in my life do you guys keep tab on besides where I send my car?"
"You've been holding out on us, Agent Scully." Langly answered instead. Her heart skipped a beat and she wondered if they had found out about Dole. He continued. "You must on to something big because there were enough waves coming out of your house to start a whole new frequency band."
Relieved that he meant the taps, she sank comfortably into the seat and prepared herself for their findings.
Byers began. "He's right. This is the first time I've come across so many bugs in one house. They've even got one in the garage."
Scully kept her face blank, although knowing that the garage was probably the main target of surveillance. "And the source?"
"We tracked it down to a van parked a block away from your street." Frohike added. "We're not sure who's keeping watch on you, but we're sure he ain't local."
"What do you mean?"
Langly explained. "When Frohike and I 'accidentally' knocked our car into the van to create a diversion, the guy came out cursing in obscenities of another language."
"Russian maybe..."
Byers continued. "While he was busy, I slipped in and grabbed a few tapes out. They were in stacks of five. One for each room. I took one of each." He pointed to the tapes to prove his point.
She frowned. "Since when, do you think?"
Frohike shook his head and guessed. "From the number Byers described, a week at least."
Langly chose a tape at random and slipped it into the tape deck. Pushing the play button, he turned up the volume. Sounds from the tape filled the van and took them all by surprise....
<< Moan...
Dole, not here…
Groan… I don't think I can make it to your room, Scully.
The ca… Whimper
Oh God Scully! You feel so good..... Moan….. God, I don't I'll even make it there……
>>
"Shut it off!" Scully croaked when she finally found her voice. The trio gave no reaction, obviously too stunned with what they just heard.
This time she yelled at Langly. "I said, shut it off!" Unfortunately, he was only capable of blinking in reply. Giving up, she decided to do it herself. She lunged for their brand new, state-of-the digital tape player and frantically tried each button until the sounds of her lovemaking with Dole were silenced.
As they continued to gape, she blushed furiously. Her slutty performance in Las Vegas years ago was nothing compared to this. And she wasn't even allowing herself to think of the performance she and Dole put up for the Russian asshole in the surveillance van.
Their staring soon pushed her over the edge and she snapped in annoyance. "What? I can't have sex?" No reply. More embarrassed than frustrated, she decided to take to slip out while their tongues were still frozen. The last thing she needed right now, was to explain Dole to them. So she did.
A couple of moments after the door closed after her, Byers muttered under his breath. "Wow." The other nodded dumbly in agreement.
Byers then took the explicit tape out of the deck and looked at its label. His eyes widened. "Uh guys?" They looked at him. "That was the garage tape."
Langly choked. "Talk about house calls..."
Meanwhile, Frohike punched his chest in mock anguish. "I think I'm about to have a heart attack." He gasped. The mere thought of the very proper Agent Scully at it was more than he could bear. But with the **mechanic**?? And in her **garage**??
Then regaining his senses, he grabbed the tape from his friend's hand slipped it into his pocket.
"She's gonna want that back, shorty." Langly told him.
"Over my dead body."
Suddenly, the van door opened. It was Agent Scully! She faced them with the little dignity she had left, her scowl daring them to even say a word. They didn't. "The tapes, hand them over." She demanded.
Byers obediently took the surveillance tapes from the dashboard and stacked them on the palm of her hand. She looked at them for a moment and rolled her eyes. "There were five tapes."
After a few seconds, Frohike sheepishly retrieved and put the fifth tape on top of the others.
"Not so tough now, huh?" Langly chided him under his breath.
The former grimaced and waited in suspense for his retribution. Luckily for him, Scully was still too mortified to remain in their presence a second longer. Hastily, she pocketed the tapes and pulled the door shut.
"Phew!" Frohike breathed in relief. "Did you guys catch the name? Dole, wasn't it?"
"Dole..." Byers looked thoughtful for a moment. "Say, didn't Agent Scully ask us to check up on a 'Dole' some time ago?"
Frohike blinked. "Yeah, a 'John Dole'."
The trio looked at each other for a while before Frohike motioned Langly to start the van. "Let's go, Kung Fu man. We've got some major dirt to dig."

<And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment the truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive>
Dana Scully barked into the phone. "What? You're kidding me. I took a day off to bring my son in, doctor. And now I have to do that again?" Dana rolled her eyes while listening to the man at the other side of the connection. "All right, can I bring him in tomorrow then?" Pause. "Good. Goodbye."
Doggett looked up from his file. "What's up?"
"Can you believe this guy? I brought Will in for the routine check and a blood test on Monday? They misplaced his blood. I have to bring him in again."
"That sucks."
"Yeah." Then muttering under her breath, she grumbled. "I'm glad Will bit him."
Her partner grinned. "Maybe that's why they lost the sample? Nothing will give him more pleasure than to stick a needle in him again."
"Not unless he wants to risk getting another nip." She grinned back. "Anyway, I'm done here. So I'll see tomorrow."
"Thursday, you mean. You're on leave tomorrow."
"Oh right. Ring that in for me, will you?" She agreed absentmindedly and gathered her stuff, leaving the office.
She was thinking about Dole and the reason for having him watched. The more she thought about it, the more her theory made sense. But bugging her house was not really necessary, was it?
She frowned. 'What if they really took him again?' Will she be able to handle it?
It seemed like just yesterday when Skinner broke the news to her that he lost him in the woods. At that time, she was too filled of emotions about her pregnancy to realize the full repercussion of the information. It only sank in much later when she went into his apartment to feed his fish, when all her defenses came tumbling down, when the transition from denial to grief came to pass.
'So what if they took him again?' Will she be so lucky as to find him again? And what if she didn't?' Another thought struck her hard. 'How would Will take it?'
Her son may not be old enough now to appreciate Dole's presence but what if they finally took the final step of becoming a family and then it happens? He would lose his father, in an alien abduction! God, an experience like that could altogether change a child's life! He might turn out to be another Mulder, forever guilty for not being able to stop the taking of his sister.
When she came to senses, she realized that she had stopped walking. The insight had hit her hard enough to override her body's autopilot and she was standing in the middle of the basement car park. Still numb, she forced her to walk towards her car.
"Agent Scully?" A woman's voice called out behind her.
She turned around and peered in the partial darkness. "Who is it?"
"Marita Covarrubias."
Dana recognized the name but not the face. She looked different somehow. Ready to reach for her gun if need be, she cautiously asked. "What do you want?"
"I came to warn you."
She nearly laughed out loud. "And why should I trust you?"
"Because I'm risking my life to be here."
Dana shook her head and decided to play her part. "Look unless you're here to tell me where Mulder is, you're wasting your time."
Marita was not fooled. "Come on Agent Scully, you know very well where he is."
Dana maintained her composure, careful not to show any reaction to her statement. Suddenly, the screeching sounds of tires made them both jump and look at the same direction.
Marita panicked. 'Did Krycek follow me?' She wondered and decided to cut to the chase just in case. "I don't have much time so listen carefully." Her eyes firmly grabbed the other's attention. "He's being watched very carefully. They're preparing to take him anytime soon."
"Who?" Dana asked, her heart wildly beating.
Again, sounds of tires and this time nearer. Marita spoke faster. "He has to go and you only have one card to play."
"Who has to go?" Frustrated, she is almost yelling.
And still nearer. "A nobody is hard to find. Do you understand me, Agent Scully?" Headlights suddenly brightened the basement and Marita looked towards it in alarm. Yelling above the screeching noise, she dispensed her last words of advice. "He doesn't have much time!" Then, she turned and ran.
"Hey wait!" Dana shouted and started after her. Passing the row of cars, she was about to follow Marita to the next section when a car suddenly appeared a few meters in front of her, at full speed. She only hesitated for a moment before throwing herself safely out of the way.
As she picked herself up, Marita was nowhere to be seen. Not failing to note that the driver didn't even bother to stop to see if she was all right, she guessed it must have been what Marita was worried about. Too bad she didn't manage to catch the plates. Brooding over the warning she had just received, she walked towards her car. This time her cell phone interrupted her.
"Scully."
"Agent Scully, Frohike here."
"What's up?"
"We just thought you might like to know we ran the fingerprints of John Dole and found a match."
She froze for a moment. 'Impossible, they destroyed Mulder's real prints!' She thought and only could croak in response. "A match?"
"Yeah, this time we used our backup Database, the one's that's not updated with the latest?" His voice held a mock tone of innocence.
She smiled. "So you know."
"And we're grinning from ear to ear. You know, I'm pretty sure you satisfied one of his fantasies with the garage venue."
Dana rolled her eyes, although amused with the familiarity of his tease. It had been a long time since they taunted her about Mulder. "Oh shut up, Frohike."
"Just when were you going to share the news with us? Didn't you know we were on the throes of despair ourselves?"
"I'm sorry. I just thought it would be a good idea to keep a low profile this time. He certainly didn't do any better with his colourful one."
"Well according to the five bugs on your estate, I think he's getting there."
She frowned. "They might still want him."
"Would certainly explain the dog face. Still, five bugs? I don't know, Scully. Sounds like they're pretty interested in you too."
"Why would they be?"
"I don't know. You were abducted once. And then there's Will, he's a part of Mulder."
His words abruptly made sense as the pieces began to fall in place perfectly. Dana suddenly found it hard to breathe. "Frohike, I'll call you back." She hung up and almost ran for the car.
All throughout her journey to the hospital, she hoped she was wrong. Making a few illegal turns and running a couple of yellow lights, she managed to get to the hospital in fifteen minutes.
The nurses recognized her immediately. She wasn't surprised. From Mulder to Doggett to her, they were their best customers for the past ten years. She talked to one of them quietly and was quickly given the instructions needed.
Finding the security room easily, she flashed her badge to the guard in charge. He nodded politely and drawled. "What can I do for you maam?"
"There were reports of missing blood samples in the pediatric ward. Do you have the security tapes of that lab?"
"Sure. It should be in this stack." He pointed out a row of tapes on a shelf. "What day would that be?"
"Monday."
He nodded, selected one and slotted it in the player. "Do you have a specific time?"
"After four."
He forwarded the tape to the time she mentioned and press the play button. "Take a seat, maam. It may take a while."
She accepted the offer and watched the screen carefully. The guard was right; it took her longer that expected. In fact, she only found what she wanted on Tuesday's tape.
"Krycek." She whispered to herself when he saw the intruder's face and everything immediately became clear. 'They **were** after Will!'

<And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am>
Despite her turmoil, she somehow managed to keep a calm composure. It helped that her mother was around when he arrived. He was visually curious why he was summoned at such a late hour but since she did not elaborate on the phone, he knew better than to ask.
After the usual pleasantries with Maggie who soon left them alone, Dana took his hand. Signaling him to be silent, she led him to the laundry room. Upon reaching there, she switched the empty dryer on.
Satisfied that it was noisy enough, she tried to turn to face him. But somehow, her body refused to comply her brain's wishes. And before long, she noticed that her hands were shaking. She closed her eyes and cursed herself. 'It wouldn't do to freak out right now.' She scolded herself firmly. Will needed her and she had to be strong for him.
Oblivious to her desolation, Dole slipped his arms around her waist. "One of you fantasies, Scully?" Dana opened her mouth to protest but before she could, he pressed his mouth to the side of her throat. With lips and tongue, he kissed and nibbled her sensitive skin, from her ivory neck to shoulders.
She took a deep breath as a pain worse than anything she had ever experience tore her heart in two. His passion for her was inflaming every cell in her body and the thought of losing not only her son but also him was literally killing her.
He did not make it any easier. Burying his face in her hair, he muttered softly. "God, I can't wait to marry you and begin the rest of my life with you. And of course with Will. You know, the family you've always wanted….."
That did it! Her tears welled and fell uncontrollably. He misunderstood the reason. Gently swinging her around, he brushed it away. "Don't cry, Scully. You're making me feel like a big bully."
She almost smiled and looked into his anxious eyes. But what he saw in hers worried him further. The dazed bleakness held more fear than anything. The sight shattered his self-control and he dipped his head to kiss her hungrily, as if wanting to assure her that he loved her with every fiber of his being.
The impact of his lips drove away all apprehension and dread from her thoughts. At that moment, she was content to concentrate on responding to his exploring hands and tongue. Nothing else mattered.
As their kiss intensified, their heated bodies pressed onto each other in desperation. At one point, Dole backed her up against the dryer. Although the rocking appliance proved distracting, it was also rather exciting and their desire for each other became almost chaotic.
Suddenly the laundry door opened and the light came on. Dole barely had time to step back in surprise when a short scream made them both jump.
Maggie's heart skipped several beats as her eyes focused on the two figures in the room. When she realized, it was just her daughter and Dole, she groaned in relief. "Are you two trying to give me a heart attack?"
"Mom…" Dana trailed off, not knowing what to say.
"For God's sakes, use a room!" Her mother snapped and grabbed the basket she dropped a second ago. As she closed the door behind her, she muttered to herself. "First the garage, now the laundry room. You would think we didn't have bedrooms in this house…"
When they were alone again, Dole grinned. "Hear that, Scully? We just got permission to use the bedroom."
Dana sighed. Pushing him away gently, she walked to the edge of the small room. "Dole, I didn't bring you here to make out with you."
He frowned and mumbled. "I knew it was just too good to be true."
She snapped her head back and glared at him. "I'm trying to be serious."
It worked. His face immediately dropped. "What is it?"
All that the eloquent speeches and explanation she had rehearsed while waiting for him to arrive had vanished from her brain. And she fumbled for the words.
He noticed her anxiety and took a step closer. "This house is bugged. That's why we're in the laundry room, with the dryer on."
It wasn't a question but she nodded anyway. He had given her an opening and she found it easier to gather her thoughts now. "Marita Covarrubias sought me out today. To warn me."
"Warn you about what?"
"I wasn't sure…." She hesitated. "….until I found proof that Krycek had stolen Will's blood sample from the hospital, a few days ago."
"What! Why?"
"Because he's your son." She explained softly, knowing that this fact would be the biggest blow. She was right and watched the blood drain from his face.
It took him a few minutes before he could say anything. "And you took a sample yourself. What did you find?" She was slightly surprised. He took her hand and lightly touched the bite mark on it, explaining how he knew. "My son, the Count Dracula."
She managed to offer a small smile. "I'll get the detailed analysis by tomorrow. But I tried something else."
"What?"
"The reading cards. You once had irregular brain activity and telepathic powers so I figured…." Trailing off, she decided to tell him the conclusion instead. "I arranged twenty reading cards on the table. He picked the ball, thrice."
'It was just a game.' Dole grimaced. "Shit!"
She shook her head. "Ironic, isn't it? Spent years looking for the paranormal and I gave birth to one."
He smiled slightly. "What do we do?"
The part she was dreading, she thought. "We protect him."
He looked up at her, surprised. Her tone told him that she already had a plan. "How?"
"I called the Gunmen. They're preparing new identities…." Trailing off, her voice cracked. Confused, he waited for her to recover. A fresh tear trailed down her cheek when she continued. "A nobody is hard to find."
The full inference of her words dawned on him. Taking a step towards her and grabbing her by her shoulders, he shook her. "No, Scully!"
She could barely speak now. "It's the only way!"
"I can't do this alone!"
"You have to!" She hissed furiously.
"I can't…" He hesitated, a tear suddenly splashing down his cheek. "I don't know how and I don't want to do it without you!"
Her anger softened. She touched his face with her shaking hand. "You don't have a choice."
Shaking his head defiantly, he pressed her hard. "How can you bear to let him go?"
Her blue eyes instantly glared daggers at him. "Do you actually think this is easy for me?" His expression immediately told her otherwise and she took a deep breath to control her tormented heart. "The fact is I'd rather lose him and let him have a shot at a normal life than the alternative."
He understood but the thought of her giving up the only miracle that kept her sane made him beg her consider another option. "Come with us."
"No. It's too easy to track me down."
"That's bullshit, Scully! If they wanted to track me down, they can easily do that too. They have my prints."
"Not really." She explained. "If they can change all Mulder's prints and dental records to John Dole's, we can do the same. We just need to make sure we cover all databases."
"Then we can change yours too."
"No. It's easier for the two of you to disappear than the three of us. Very few people recognize you and Will is just a child. If I go with you, I'll be endangering both your lives and I won't take that chance."
He studied her intently, gradually accepting that she had made up her mind and nothing he said would make a difference. Defeated, his arms fell beside him limply and he stared blankly at the wall behind her.
She recognized the look. He was scared and had good reason to be. Barely having enough time to warm up to him, he was now going to be fully responsible of
their son's welfare. The thought was simply too overwhelming for him.
Touching his arm, she claimed his attention. "You're his father. It'll come to you." He smiled nervously and she felt it was time for another revelation. "Dole, there's something I need you to promise me."
He frowned. "What?"
"You can't tell me anything. Nothing at all."
"I don't understand."
"When the Gunmen prepare your new identities, you will full control of the details. You choose the names, the locations, the dates, everything. And you reveal nothing to us." She paused to take another deep breath. "I don't want to know anything; his new name, which state you're in, what college he goes to, what he grows up to be….. nothing."
He opened his mouth to protest but she cut him off quickly. "I mean it. Because if I know even a tiny element, I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from tracking him down. So you have to promise me…."
He closed him eyes tightly. He thought he might explode seeing her in so much pain.
"Dole?" She persisted.
Barely having any control of his voice, he managed to growl softly. "I promise."
"Thank you."
His eyes were still closed when he felt her arms around him, pulling him close. Slipping his hands around her, he crushed her tight as she ultimately broke down, shuddering convulsively on his broad chest.
Together, they cried for the new beginning of the rest of their lives. Apart.

<I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am>
Krycek angrily flung the keyboard onto the wall, causing Marita to jump.
She wanted to smile but wisely held it. Instead, she lightly said. "Destroying government property, surely that can't be good."
He glared at her. "Did you check Scully's mailbox?"
"Yes I did. A very… cute picture."
"I swear he's doing it on purpose."
"Can't you track it down?"
"What do you think I've been trying to do for the past four hours? The bastard's got it bouncing off every fucking server in entire United States and Europe!"
"It was bold of him to make a statement like that, knowing that we would be on it."
"Agent Scully's birthday." He grumbled fiercely. "He's fucking smart too. Made sure there wasn't any telling background for us to track him down."
"Well at least you got the latest picture of the boy."
"Not much difference from three months ago since they took off." He rubbed his forehead in annoyance. "And I have a feeling it would be the last picture we'd ever get of him."
"You were right." She suddenly told him.
He looked at her, unsure what she meant.
Marita smiled and put in plain words. "A nobody **is** hard to find."
The look he gave her was pure revulsion and she thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
