Team name: *PX*dstall
Real name:
Denise
Birthday:
August 15
Where I live:
San Antonio, Texas
( in an old house built in 1910's)
home of chile rellenos, the Spurs (no, I have no interest in all that), the RiverWalk.
About my family:
Son Cory, 27, a musician in Austin.
Married 29 years. Chuck is a salesman
and is writing a mystery novel. My husband plays acro, but I won't tell you who he is as he can be something of a grump in the chat room!
My pets:
Chee, an extremely loving
but neurotic little 1 1/2 years old Sheltie
that I am insanely in love with.
He is quite beautiful, but has been a challenge!
(He won't go outside if a squirrel or cat is in sight). My first sheltie, Sam, went to the rainbow bridge at the age of 13 last year -- I still miss him every day.
My job:
I'm a freelance writer -- all kinds of writing, fiction for children's achievement tests, public relations, newspaper and magazine.
I also edit for doctors at a medical school and teach them to write. I teach fiction writing, too.
Favorite color(s):
deep purple
Favorite book(s):
Anything by Ursula LeGuinn or John Irving, Ordinary People, Watership Down.
Favorite movie(s):
Though I can't explain why,
Moonstruck is my favorite; also Raising Arizona
and Say Anything.
Favorite song(s):
Mercy Street by Peter Gabriel,
Graceland by Paul Simon, Everybody Wants to Rule the World
Favorite celebrities:
Um . . . can't think of any.
Favorite sport/athlete:
Meditative Dancing
Favorite animated character:
Tasmanian Devil
Favorite acro category:
I really prefer General,
(sorry, but it's true) especially on 6 & 7 letters.
I like made-up couch topics.
My least favorite acro category: Sports, definitely.
I also loathe Austin Powers!
If I ever meet Acrobot in a dark alley I will:
Boot him in return for past boots; but thank him for giving us acro.
If I were a wild animal I would be:
A dancing bear because (unfortunately) the body type is similar (not the amount of body hair though!) and because I love dancing, and loved Captain Kangaroo's Dancing Bear when I was a child.
If I were a farm animal I would be: A farmyard cat because I have always wanted to be covered with fur and drink cream
and hide in the hayloft.
I want my team mates to know and remember this about me:
I approached everything with passion and had no regrets. I am easygoing, especially when playing acro; but I'd rather not see acros that use the word "cuddling".
I hope my team mates never find out about this:
Why on earth would I tell you that here? Oh, OK. I hope they never find out that
I'd be finished with my novel by now if
I hadn't gotten hooked on acro.
