This song is an expression of my belief that In order to acheive unity, peace, or anarchy, or anything positive even joy, than we all need to give up our pride!!!!

That same old tune ringing in my ears

1st Verse: I was a boy scout when I was just a kid. I held that flag so proudly as we all recited the pledge. I never questioned I just couldn’t see it then. Are you patriotic asked the Vietnam vet., and we all shouted blindly, Yes! Ten years later I ask myself, “what’s the glory in war?” A friend once said it’s the gory with an “L” but I’m not sure. I think that glory is for the greedy and war is only gory. Was it so many years ago that you can’t remember the pain? Your might remember the m-16 that blew out his fucking brains. It’s ten years later and I ask you, are you patriotic? You shrug your shoulders and look away. I guess you’re still not sure yet.

Chorus: Brainwashed? No, just tricked. Another patriotic vet. Your pride for Old Glory has surpassed your self respect. Remember the Alamo! Oh say can you see! Open your eyes, this is not your country. This country is for the rich and you just feed their greed. Their trick is a synch, just four words: Land of the free.

2nd Verse: I have no pride at all, you can take this song and burn it. But the principle still stands, so you better learn it. PRIDE! It’s a fucking joke. It’s what keeps you broke, it’s why you got your ass kicked and punched in the throat. It’s why we fought England, it’s why we fought France. The Civil war was about pride not about white and black. First world war, Germany, and Austria-Hungary. Second world war, Hitler and the Nazi’s. The story remains the same, Korea, Vietnam. In every battle, on every front, in every fucking war, pride is what keeps us fighting, guess what? You’ll never even the score. Where there is pride there is a fight. Where there is Nationalism, somebody dies. So put away your flags Tonight. Throw away your fancy slogans and your banners tonight. let’s all live as equals tonight. Tonight, give up your pride, Tonight!

Chorus:
