In Brief: Stop Press Vol.18 No.1 May/June 1989.           (Gallery Archive Posted to Website 9/5/2002)
The major content of this issue is an examination of the Confessions of Dr.W.Coulson and Abraham Maslow, exposing the dangers of Humanistic 'Affective' education and that they (in association with Dr Carl Rogers, co-founder of the humanistic movement in psychology and education.) have harmed children through psychological techniques they taught classroom teachers to use to encourage decision-making, and self-esteem in children. Dr.W.Coulson was a Professor of Psychology and Education at United States International University.
Coulson now believes that society's fascination with psychotherapeutic modalities -- e.g., such programmes as Values Clarification -- helps account for the decline of literacy during that period and since.   Dr.MASLOW confessed that Self-esteem and Self-actualization theories should NOT have been used with children.
5 other articles in this issue include:
1. Looking Back at 1988 & 2. Looking Ahead in 1989
3. The Role of the Christian is To Have Influence.
4. Profile on Dr.W.R.Coulson
5. Sex Education in Schools criticized
