Aaron Carter Interview With U Magazine

Does anyone else in your family sing (besides Nick)?

Aaron: My sister Leslie. She is a singer and she is just getting into the business. She does folk music - like what Jewel does. She sang on my record on the song I Will Be Yours. The funny thing about it was when she was singing she thought the line was I will be your horse.

Do you play any instruments?

Aaron: I play the saxophone.

What is your favourite school subject?

Aaron: Math. I just passed fifth grade. In normal public school, you do six hours a day. I do one hour a day.

Do you think there will ever be a chance that you will join the Backstreet Boys?

Aaron: I have to get a little bit taller. They don't want five guys and a little midget kid.

Who writes your lyrics?

Aaron: Nick and Brian wrote one song, (Ain't That Cute). I like that song a lot.

Do you ever feel people see you just as Nick Carter's younger brother and not as your own individual person?

Aaron: I don't mind being known as Nick Carter's younger brother, but I don't mind being noticed as myself, too.

What obstacles did you have to overcome?

Aaron: Vocal lessons can be hard sometimes.

Are the audiences different around the world?

Aaron: The audiences in Germany are more hyper than they are in the United States. The fans are kind of crazy over there. They give you all kinds of stuff like jewelry, shampoo, cologne. In Malaysia, they gave me real live turtles and parakeets on stage. They were flying all around and the turtles were crawling all over the stage.

What are your plans for the future?

Aaron: Being a singer and getting more popular and to have a successful career. Hopefully I will be doing this for a long time, like Michael Jackson.
