Notes and Warnings Author's Notes: This is my first Lord of the Rings fan fiction (even if I've read the trilogy about a million times in the last 10 years or so), so I'm a bit nervous. This story falls somewhere between the movieverse and the bookverse. While I've tried to stick mostly to what happened in the movies, I have incorporated bits of the books in (such as the names of places and other such). There are also brief references in here to a story I'm writing right now, which will serve as a prequel of sorts to this one. The title for this story was inspired by a Loreena McKennitt song, "Dante's Prayer" which can be found on her 'Book of Secrets' album. Special thanks to: My evil betas Amet, Anne, and theVault.
