- April 11, 1998 -
3rd Degree recently played thier first show at Willowbrook Lanes on March 27th with Fallout, Sketch Middle, and Special Order (formerly Feedback). We also played our song, The Path, at the Downers Grove South Talent Show. We plan on playing a lot more shows and hopefully going into the studio soon to get a demo recorded. If you need us to play any type of event or you want a copy of our first live performance on videocassette, please E-mail any member of the band.

Summerfest '98 was a success, and Mark's Summer Reunion Party did not go as well as planned, but at least it was a learning experience. Pietrus is taking a month long hiatus into France so we'll be out of commission for July but we should be back in August with another Summerfest and a new song written by Mike. Hopefully we'll record a demo by then also. Martin just recently started singing lessons, so his ragin' vocals will be more intense than ever. (Haha) If you need us for any type of show at all, you can E-mail anyone of us.

Well Klarapalooza (aka SUMMERFEST 3) went pretty good except for the unexpected entrance of the police, who busted up our party early. We also recently played a show at Jeremy Campbell's house with The Velvet Explosoin. Unfortunately the cops came again to break it up. SORRY GUYS!!! Recently the band has gotten some new even louder equipment, so we're ready for some more shows as the school year is about to begin. Our next show is Jimstock 98' on August 22nd, come join the party! If you would like us to play just E-mail someone from the band. You might want to try E-mailing Mike because no one talks to him anyways. Recording is in the near future so keep your eyes out for a 3rd Degree Demo coming out sometime soon. Jimstock '98 turned out to be a success. 3rd Degree opened up for Sketch Middle and played a 10 song set. Thanks to the careful set-up of all of Sketch Middle's equipment, both 3-man bands had good levels and sounded great on the deck/stage. 3rd Degree is planning on playing several shows during the fall and recording after Mike's soccer team takes the state championship. Lastly, 3rd Degree will have a permanant practice space in the Klara's basement after it is finished. There is a possibility of future show down there also. WE ARE FINALLY HITTING THE STUDIO! January 2nd and 4th we are recording a seven song demo/album at Solid Sound Studios in Hoffman Estates. We are putting it out on CD and we should have plenty of copies for all. They should be going for about $5. Let us know what you think.
- January 26th, 1999 -
Well, the 3rd Degree album is finally out. We went to the studio on January 16th and 17th instead of on the 2nd, because if you think back and remember, the 2nd was the day of the monster snow storm (Biggest of the Century) so we took that as a warning of not to go into the studio. Other than that, everything went as planned. The recording went smoothly, so smooth in fact that we had time to put an 8th song on the CD. They are selling for $6 so grab 'em while they're hot. We are also playing a few shows in the upcoming months at Riley's, some house parties, bowling alleys, and there might be a chance of playing the Downers Grove HeritageFest so check back to see if we get that gig.

First I would like to thank those of you who were kind enough to buy our CD, the sales have gone pretty well, and we just wanted to say thanks. It's about time for us to try something new so tomorrow is going to be our first acoustic show ever. We've been working on a lot of covers lately because let's face it, people love covers!! Anyways, with the spring season starting we have some shows lined up and we be making some new songs along the way. That's it for now. Thanks again to all of you who make our shows worth playing!!

We finally put up some songs on the page, and more will be coming soon. Check those out under our "Sounds" link. Next, 3rd Degree has been playing seperately lately due to college. Mike has played several successful shows the the University of Wisconsin at Madison, while Matt and Martin have been playing acoustically with an Ovation and bongos at the University of Iowa. Check back periodically for upcoming shows with the full band.
