Margaret Lee Alexander was born March 20th 1930 in IL. the 8th child of Charles Bradford Alexander and Linda Elizabeth Smith. She graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in Pleasant Plains, Il. She married Ernest Ransom Usherwood born July 26, 1927 in Springfield, IL. died 1998 in Springfield, Ill.on 26 November 1949 in Springfield,IL. Ernest was the son of Ernest Ransom Usherwood and Irene Olive Bailey of Springfield, IL. Ernest known as "Sonny" served in the United States Army and the United States Navy during and shortly after World War II. Margaret worked as a factory worker for Sangamo Electric and Ernest worked primarily as a Tavern owner.They were married for eleven years divorcing in 1960. Ernest died in 1998 at St Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL.
