Help HomelessPets

Join Morris the Cat and Homeless Homer
in helping the Champaign County Humane Society.

The American Humane Association is a national federation of animal care and control agencies and concerned individuals, working for the protection and humane treatment of animals since 1877.

Since 1981, Homeless Homer has helped homeless pets by helping shelters and humane societies raise much needed funds. Today, he is the mascot for a national shelter fundraising program sponsored by Heinz Pet Products.

Morris the 9-Lives Cat is proud of his shelter heritage. From straydom to stardom, Morris has never forgotten his roots. He travels the country to promote pet adoption and responsible pet care.

As the official "spokesdog" and "spokescat" for homeless pets everywhere, Homer and Morris make personal appearances at animal shelters throughout the United States, in addition to:

  • Sponsoring shelter events
  • Providing adoption kits and pet care information
  • Sponsoring national training seminars

Just collect and save the Homeless Homer, Morris "Help Homeless Pets," or UPC symbols from the pet food products shown below. After you collect 10 or more dry food symbols and/or 50 or more canned or treat symbols, mail them to the Champaign County Humane Society.

How Do These Symbols Help?

Shelters receive a cash donation from Heinz Pet Products for every symbol they redeem! The more symbols they redeem, the more cash they get to help care for their animals up to a maximum donation of $250,000.00 per year. It's a terrific way for you to help homeless pets while giving your pet the care it deserves.

To date, caring people just like you have helped donate over $4 million to local animals shelters and the American Humane Association.
