After releasing two albums on the local punk label Johann's Face, Smoking Popes got signed to Capitol Records, who re-released their sophomore album "Born to Quit." The band that started out in Crystal Lake(very close to me)doing garage shows(literally), then became known nationwide for their punk driven love songs and the unforgettable vocals of Josh Caterer. The Popes released their third album,"Destination Failure," last year. It is considered to be one of 1997 finest releases.
