Jessie: How do you enjoy having fans chase you around everywhere you go?
Murphy: I guess it could be called "Chasing" but I think it's just people who are excited about your band and they are happy to finally meet you. I think it's cool. They're so enthusiastic, it gives you the real reason you started playing music, for fun.
Jessie: How did you guys become Sugar Ray?
Murphy: Mark, Stan, Rod & I all went to neighboring highschools, and so we just jammed one day and it clicked. Then we met Craig after our first CD, and then he joined the band for good.
Jessie: How do you feel about people just liking Sugar Ray for Mark?
Murphy: I don't mind them liking the band just for Mark as long as they buy the CD; I still get paid!
Jessie: What kind of music would you say you guys fit into? Ska?
Murphy: No, were definitely not a ska band! I would say just rock-n-roll. We do hard stuff and we do soft stuff, and we cover alot of musical bases. It would be unfair to try an pigeon-hole the band with a certain style of music. It's just rock-n-roll.
Jessie: When do you plan to start your new CD?
Murphy: Right now, we're writing songs now, on the road, because we want to put out a CD soon. We've never written on the road so wish us luck!
Jessie: What are your favorite songs on Lemonade & Brownies and Floored?
Murphy: My favorite song from L&B is 'Danzig Needs A Hug,' and from Floored it'd have to be 'Fly.'
Jessie: How do your neighbors treat you guys?
Murphy: Better now that we've left that block! (We moved from that house)
Jessie: How many years have you been on bass?
Murphy: About 15 years on the bass. MY GOD THAT'S A LONG TIME!!
Jessie: Does the band like the internet coverage?
Murphy: Yes, we love the internet coverage, because it's a great way to reach our fans. You can build websites and interact directly with them. We're definatly stoked that so many people help us out on the internet. I'm gonna have my own site up real soon , so keep posted to the 10 SECONDS DOWN website for details.
