TST, the New K9 Group Resource
***This is "BUDDY" who is my HRD SAR Dog***
My ESDA SAR K-9 Unit
Just a little background about Buddy, he was born March 21, 2002. He does look like a German Shepherd but this is his breeding background. In 1955, German Shepherds and Carpathian wolves were crossed in Czechoslovakia. In 1994, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog was recogonized as a national breed by the FCI. Buddy does seem to have a very keen sense of smell and is very eager to work. I purchased the dog in June 2002, from the Jerald Hicks Kennels in Ashland, KY.

___Buddy working Scent Track____________________________________________It's over there, LOOK___
Just to give you an insight as to the working progress of "BUDDY" at this time, he is just about 5&1/2 years old, in the photos, and due to his breeding background he is seems to prefer to work the HRD problems. He is endorsed by several Coroners. His level of training at this time, is for sniffing out recent remains, He was introduced to work Cadaver Scent, about 3 years ago and will continue training in this field. For the most of his detection, it is done on leash, due to the extreme libility, but there is times that this is done off leash, he works by voice and visual commands. And yes I think he is a great dog and friend. I also want to thanks those that have made this possible .

Of course hours of training has proven that the dog does have the ability to do the job. But this could not have been done alone, various other people have provided help by suggestions to solve problems, and assisting in the training. Thanks to the young people in San Jose that helped start Buddy on his tracking ability, and the San Jose LE officers that also provided great support, and also Bill who helped start training Buddy and Beth and Devin. Buddy and I both extend our thanks to these people. BUDDY is now over 5 years old and has worked 3 sucessful tracks, at present while he is not certified to some groups standards, he is on call to Mason County Sheriffs Dept. He showed his ability/cert. there by working a 2 1/2 hour old track, working the track thru over 360 acres of standing corn and finding the subject after about 2 hours, this was done with LE's from the County, Locals, and Illinois State Police watching the dog work, this was a real time event.
Buddy will continue his training and certifications with Instructors who are fully qualified do this with standards that are accepted through out the United States by LE's and Emergency Service Providers. Please note we do not Deploy Cross Trained K9's
