Bob Weir is the rhythm guitarist and singer for the Grateful Dead, one of the most successful bands in rock 'n roll history.Apart from the Dead, Bob has recorded - either individually or with his own
band - the following records: Ace, Heaven Help the Fool, Bobby and the Midnites, and When the Beat Meets the Street. He
has also appeared on numerous videos, radio shows and national, local and cable television programs. Of the major network
shows, he has been on The Today Show, The David Letterman Show, Overnight News, ABC NightLine, and Good Morning
America. Over the past years, Bob has often performed at concerts to benefit non-profit organizations. It was the Grateful
Dead's Rainforest Benefit Concert at Madison Square Garden in 1988 that served as the catalyst for Bob's creation, with his
sister Wendy Weir, of their first environmental children's book and audio cassette tape Panther Dream: A Story of the African
Rainforest (Hyperion Books for Children, 1991). Bob is an active environmentalist and humanitarian with a special focus
towards temperate and tropical reforestation and conservation projects, coral reef preservation, the rights of indigenous
peoples, and children's education. He is on the Advisory Board of Coral Forest. His other interests include football mountain
and road biking and scuba diving. Bob resides in Mill Valley, California.
