Long ago, a strange knight defeated the evil wizard Mundaine, freeing Sosaria from his evil spell. He Wielded the Sword of virtue, which broke the spell but also smote the Gem into different fragments Scattering the shards across the universe.
This sword too shattered, and its fragment's fell across the land, one part for each virtue, for each realm of Sosaria, to be found and forged anew to defend the realms once again in times of trouble. It is our quest to seek out these fragments, which legend says can only be claimed by the most pure of heart. Once found we are to safely guard the fragments, so that they can be forged anew, during the coming times of troubles, For legend speaks that when Evil shall threaten the realms again, a strange knight shall appear to strike down the evil, and defend the realms once again.
