In loving memory
of my father:

After many years of being angry at the
world for taking my father from me at such a
young age (18). I have decided to do this page
in honor of my father's accomplishments,
and in show of my forgiveness for him.
Also, to highten your awareness of Brain Cancer;
what it is; what it does; and what causes it.

In January 1991, at age 15, my mother sat
my brother and me down, and informed
me that my father was diagnosed with
Brain Cancer. I remember not knowing
the severity of his condition.
I was angry at everyone, the world,
mostly my father.

My father didn't always provide me with
the best surroundings, emotionaly, while
growing up. He was emotionaly and phisically
abusive. The rest of this page
is in light of my forgiveness for him.

My grandfather and my father did not get along
well at all, to say the least. When my
father was 16, he felt he needed to get
away from his father -- at any cost. My
grandfather signed for my father to
go to the Vietnam War. My father
served 2 years (one tour) active
duty in the Vietnam War as an MP and
decided that he did not want to
go home to his father, and signed up
for another tour in active duty as
a driver for the supply truck.
After 4 years, at age 20, my father
returned home. A year later, he
married my mother.

The causes of Central Nervous System Tumors
are not known, and scientists cannot
explain why brain tumors develope in healthy
adults. Because most patients diagnosed
with brain tumors have no identifiable
risk factors, it is believed that
brain tumors result from a number of factors
acting together. My father had
two of these factors, Agent Orange -- from
Vietnam, and exposure to radiation -- from
extensive use of cellular phones.

Agent Orange -- the code name for a herbicide
developed for the military, primarily
for use in tropical climates. Agent
Orange was used 1967-1971 to deny an
enemy cover and concealmeant in dense
terrain by defollating trees and
shrubbery where enemy could hide.
Agent Orange is a mix of two
chemicals -- 2,4,D and 2,4,5,T.
Mixed with kerosene or diesel fuel
and dispersed by aircraft, vehicle,
and hand spraying. Health concerns about
Agent Orange were about the product's
contamination with TCDD or dioxin. The
delay of this toxin has the ability
to not manifest itself until up to as
many as twenty years later.

This is a picture of my father and mother
(I look just like her, hehehe) shortly after
they were married.
