S.J. (Darwin).
According
to one record, it states that he served in this regiment, however, I
could find no record of his name. He also served in the 4th Indiana
Cavalry (see Indiana Units).
History of the 6th Iowa Cavalry Organized
at Davenport
January 31 to March 5, 1863. Moved to Sioux City, Dakota, March
16-April 26, 1863. Operations against hostile Indians about Fort
Randall May and June. Moved to Fort Pierre, and duty there till July.
Sully's Expedition against hostile Sioux Indians August 13-September
11. Actions at White Stone Hill September 3 and 5. Duty at Fort Sully,
Fort Randall and Sioux City till June, 1864. Sully's Expedition against
hostile Sioux Indians June 26-October 8. Engagement at Tah kah a kuty
July 28. Two Hills, Bad Lands, Little Missouri River, August 8.
Expedition from Fort Rice to relief of Fisk's Emigrant train September
11-30. Fort Rice September 27. Duty by Detachments at Fort Randall,
Sioux City, Fort Berthold, Yankton and the Sioux and Winnebago Indian
Agencies till October, 1865. Mustered out October 17, 1865.

"Miliken", William was found. Age 23. Residence Abingdon, nativity
Indiana.
Enlisted Aug. 11, 1862. Mustered Aug. 20, 1862. Discharged for
disability March 21, 1863, St. Louis, Mo.
History of the 19th Iowa Infantry (From Aug '62-Mar '63) Organized at Keokuk and
mustered in August 25, 1862. Ordered to St. Louis, Mo. Attached to
District of Southwest Missouri, Dept. of Missouri, to October, 1862.
2nd Brigade, 3rd Division, Army of the Frontier, Dept. of Missouri, to
June, 1863. 2nd Brigade, Herron's Division, 13th Army Corps, Army of
Tennessee, to July, 1863. 2nd Brigade, 2nd Division, 13th Army Corps,
Dept. of the Tennessee, to August, 1863, and Dept. of the Gulf to June,
1864.
SERVICE.-Moved
to Rolla, Mo.,
September 11, 1862; thence to Springfield, Mo., September 16, and to
Cassville October 11. Blunt's Campaign October 17-December 27. Battle
of Prairie Grove , Ark., December 7. Expedition over Boston Mountains
to Van Buren December 27-28. Capture of Van Buren December 28. Duty at
Forsythe February 15 to April 22, 1863. March to Hartsville and Salem
April 22-May 2, and to Rolla June 2. Moved to Vicksburg, Miss., June
6-14. Siege of Vicksburg June 14-July 4. Expedition from Vicksburg to
Yazoo City July 12-21. Capture of Yazoo City July 14. Moved to Port
Hudson July 23 and to Carrollton, La., August 12-13.
