Pictures
of soldiers and "children of the intifada" belong to the
pantheon of the international journalistic photography. Their power
was that each time we saw one, we knew that more, very similar pictures,
would be taken in a few moments, hours and upcoming days. In these
pictures, which portrayed endless variations of the same human situation
(a child throwing a stone on a soldier shooting into the crowd),
was also an element of hope, because they were a perfect expression
of rebellion and oppression. In some of them, the battle resembled
an allegoric dance, a sort of theoretical catharsis, which after
it, the expected end will follow: a choice between life and death,
between the end of the occupation and the end of the lie. In the
eyes of the children pride glittered and in the soldiers faces reflected
embarrassment, sometimes even shames. Remember? At the top of their
priorities, the establishment and their PR agents had only one sole
goal: to make people forget the Davied and Goliath situation which
is invoked by the pictures, and to convince the world that the pictures
lie. They have said Palestinians feel contempt to human life and
send their children to die in order to blacken Israel's reputation.
They have also said that we shouldn't forgive the Arab children,
those sadist, for forcing pure Israeli children / soldiers to kill
them. What haven't they told in order to combat these pictures,
what haven't they invented as to cover them up in smoke screen of
lies...
