***Latin Lover, Heavy Metal and Octagon vs
Espectro jr, Cobarde and Sangre Chicana.-
Repeated the match from Arena Solidaridad in
Monterrey.
***Apache,Kendo(?),Sanguinario and Jerry
Estrada vs Oscar Sevilla, Parka jr Mascara
Sagrada jr and el Original.- Kendo and
Original are Nvo Laredo locals with some kind
of feud, this is Jerry Estrada's official
return to AAA.
1.-Jerry jumps on Parka jr as soon as the match starts, the rudos attack their respective foes with some brawling, Jerry does a stunner ?!? Rudo brawling, more brawling, now the tecnicos are the ones brawling! Things cool down a little and at last some one on one segments with wrestling are seen. Sevilla throws Apache out of the ring and goes to the corner, but he loses balance and falls back to the ring so goes for a short tope, Mascara hits a somersault bodyblock to the center of the ring to pin Sanguinario and the tecnicos take the firs fall.
2.- After Parka jr displays his usual comedic spots, the brawling breaks once again, but this time Sevilla ends bleeding buckets and buckets of blood!!! The bloodiest match in a while, this looked as a Saint Seiya episode! Eventually, Sevilla reacts, but before that, Original hits a somersault plancha and lands with his back on Kendo (too bad Kendo had to drop to the floor to receive the move), Jerry sicsors Parka out, and Sagrada nails Sanguinario with a tope. In the ring Sevilla gets some revenge, he is ready to put Apache in the Romero Special, but Cuerno arrives and starts attacking Sevilla, so the Rudos are DQed!!
Almost OK match here, Jerry was good, Sevilla's feuds were encouraged, mainly with Cuerno de Chivo returning, there might be the mask vs hair match after all.
***Latin Lover vs Cobarde for el Cobarde's.... mmmmh, Fiction Title?, oh well who knows, it is a made up thing.
1/2/3.-Even with Jerry Estrada, who was there with Cobarde, La Parka jr with Latin Lover and Tiranes helping Cobarde, this was not the brawling I expected, mostly matwork, boring secuences of restholds. At the end, Latin gave the Patada de Cabrito (sweet chin music) on Cobarde, and then put him into the sharpshooter while Tirantes argued with Parka, Cobarde didn't submit, but the bell rang and Latin won the title! Cobarde was screwed!!... well, that must be what Jerry thought would happen, so to prevent this, he throwed a soft drink to Latin's eyes, then Cobarde faked a foul and got the match.
***Vipers (w/ Abismo Negro instead of Mosco
II) vs Vatos Locos.- The story here was
that Vatos were representing one of Nuevo
Laredo's Promotion (Mr Amezquita -?-),
while Vipers were with a rival Promo (Mr
Cantu -?-), both promoters were there at
ringside as 'seconds'.
1/2.- Vatos get the better end of the mandatory initial brawling, eventually things get even and at the end, Abismo faces Picudo-- the other three Vipers had nailed the other three Vatos with triple topes suicidas!! Cantu tripped Picudo, allowing Abismo Negro to go for the pin with casita-crucifix-like move. The second fall was the same thing that the first but with different outcome.
3.-The brawling continued for the most part, the end came after ALL EIGHT guys did a secuence of missing sentones or planchas, then they tried to run all together around the ring, but failed, then, all Vipers tried somersault flips pins, but Vatos blocked them by holding the ropes, but Canto gave a chair shot on Picudo, so that Abismo took the match. Post match, brawling with both teams attacking opposing promoter.
Not as good as the one in Leon, but not as bad as the one from Monterrey, this is starting (maybe it is already) to be a classic fued. So far, most of the times they just don't "click" to have a great match, but they're starting to use 6-8-men spots and could get a lot better next year.
CMLL's end of year special.-Sort of, they
only showed 2 matches from the end of year
card, but what was left behind included
Salomon Grondy and los Dinamitas
so...
,br> Cien Caras, Mascara Aņo 2000 and Satanico vs Lizmark, Atlantis and Emilio Charles.- This might be, IMO, one of the boriest booked match CMLL could think off now. The tecnicos are not turning rudos, and los rudos will be rudos always, Satanico just lost his title and hair, so it is too early for him to seek any feud with Charles.
1/2/3.- Rudos do their stuff and take the first fall with little effort at all, in the second, los tecnicos made the comeback and brawl for a while, to then put los rudos in a starfish hold with Lizmark delivering a huracanrana on Stanico in the center, funny thing, the previous week had the same spot but with Santito doing la de a caballo, at that time I wondered if a fall had been decided this way in the 90's...Nothing worthy happens in the final fall, Satanico low blows Lizmark and get the DQ
***Halcon Negro vs Tony Rivera vs Ringo
Mendoza--Triangle hair match.- The rules
here are: the one losing two falls, loses his
hair.
Ringo vs Tony--Ringo wins.
Ringo vs Halcon Negro jr--Ringo wins.
Tony Rivera vs Halcon Negro for the hair.- Halcon begin controling the match, they battle in the ring and on the acces halls for a while, Tony connects dropkicks and nails Halcon with tope suicida, so then, he is the one brawling. Halcon takes Tony to the ttb and delivers his armdrag to get two 2-counts with Tony reaching the ropes just in time, Halcon takes Tony again to the ttb, but now Rivera slams the rudo's face to the match, Rivera returns to the corner and deliver his Huracanrana to take the match.
***Superlibre-Villano III,Silver King and
Villano V vs Hijo del Santo, Negro Casas and
Felino.- A lot of stuff going on here,
first, these is a classic match, Silver King
vs Santo, and Santo vs Villanos are legend
stuff, then, Pepe Casas, Ray Mendoza, Dr
Wagner and Santo... these guys are legends
and their kids are getting at it!!! On the
other hand, there is the WWF vs WCW thing,
that most mexican fans are unaware of...
1/2.-This one went to the tecnicos after the intial brawling, the good guys were able to stage the comeback, Felino pined King with a Huracanrana while Santito put a Villano in la de a caballo. Then, rud... team WCW restablish the brawling, Silver King puts felino into a Gory special then spins a drop him to take th pin, Villano something forces Santito quit to a normal Gory's special.
3.-More brawling, which goes back and forth, masks start to be ripped, some blood can be seen on Negro's face! Most of the guys try planchas or sentones, but all of them miss! Felino helps Santito to do the double tope, first on King then on Villano V, in the ring, Villano powerbombs Negro, but doesn't get the pin, in a second attempt, Negro escapes and does la casita to get the fall and match.
***Blue Panther, Black Warrior and Dr Wagner
jr vs Bestia Salvaje, Zumbido and Scorpio
jr.- for the vacant CMLL trios title.
1.- Blue Panther and Bestia, then Scorpio jr and Wagner jr start doing some mat work, which takes a few minutes, while Scorpio and Wagner are working, Zumbido surprises Wagner doing a top rope springboard missil kicks, which leave 'el galeno del mal' open to a powerbomb, Panther and Warrior doesn't make it in time... not that they tryed that hard.
2.-Zumbido enters to the action and speeds up the match vs Panther, later, Black Warrior enters to face Scorpio, but he has little action as soon Wagner uses the WagnerDriver98 to beat Scorpo.
3.-Laguna's rudo team start doing some good team work, and they go over with the crowd, too bad since that means they won't be making the walk out tease... Wagner has added the 3/4 facelock bulldog to his move list, he does it several times on Scorpio, the Laguneros are overwhelming their foes untill they start doing the comeback and the near fall secuences start. The finish happens this way: Wagner takes Scorpio out with a somersault plancha on the floor, Black Warrior hits double missile kicks on Zumbido and Bestia, so that Blue Panther and Black Warrior can put them in nudos laguneros.
