My Gaming Web Sites
Since PCXL got axed *sniff*, here's the site most of their editors are going!
Unfortunately, since PCXL got axed, I started getting PC Lamer. So here it is!
My Favorite Games of all Time:
Age of Empires, AOE: Rise of Rome- A really good game from Microsoft. It has some bugs (like no path finding whatsoever and Kindergarden Dropout Level AI), but it one game that captivated me for a long time! In AOE: ROR, the expansion pack, I suggest Carthage or the Yamato if you are offensive in RTS games. If you're defensive, use Babylon or the Palmyrans.
Worms 2/Worms Armageddon- Nice relaxing turn-based stategy game, where you use weapons like the Homing Pigeon, the Concrete Donkey, the Holy Hand grenade, exploding Sheep (many types of these like Confused Sheep Strikes, Cloned Sheep, Super Sheep, regular Sheep, Medium Rare Sheep [made up by me]) and many others to blow up your opponent's Worms. One very fun part is naming your Worms. One team o' mine is named after the First Family! You can also choose sound schemes for each team (their voices). I happen to like the Simpsons', Oasis (the band), and the X-Files sounds(Also, in Armageddon, you can choose each team's flag, victory song, gravestone, and signature weapon.)
Everquest- Rat Hunter 3D to newbies, Eversmack to veterans. It combines 3D graphics with the huge inventory system and an entire world to explore to create: one helluvan addictive game! At first you start out hunting lowly rodents (Rat Hunter 3D). But once you've played it enough, it is Eversmack for the addictive gameplay. The only problem is combat. It's turn-based so you take turns wacking each other with swords, clubs, and axes. See me on Sullon Zek as Eaglie Puppydogg, officer of the Flowers of Happiness.
Starcraft (including Starcraft: Brood War)- It has great gameplay, best game story of all time, good graphics... it's an all-around great game (except the fricking AI!). I love the Terran species since they've got nukes, Wraiths, Medics, and Siege Tanks, but they're not very exciting. To have more excitement, try the Zerg (cost for soldiers is cheap and can heal themselves) or the Protoss (two adjective/noun pairs: damn powerful and damn expensive). The Terrans are a good beginner race.
Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings- Helluva good game. Unbelievably good path finding and pretty damn good graphics. The units' fighting AI still suffers, since when they're being killed by a single Militia (the weakest unit), they'll be hacking away at some villagers or a house. All in all though, it's an awesome game. I love how the arrows that miss the target still stick in the ground. And the races can sometimes seem customized to your liking! The Teutons (the Germans) are built for just digging in and waiting for the enemies to attack. I personally have always been a defensive person, so they're perfect for me.
Diablo II!- I'm a paladin (about lvl 44 now, in Act 3 on Nightmare difficulty) all the way! My sister is an Amazon, and almost all my friends are Necromancers. I go on the USEast shard on Battle.net. The paladin is my favorite guy with big weapons and godly magic. The Necromancer is the true bad ass of the heroes. He raises the dead and brings 4 types of golems into play. He also has poison/bone spells and can curse people. The Amazon is next. She kicks @$$ with the javelin, spear, and bow! And guys many times over want hers! The Sorceress is cool too (with her ice, fire, and electric spells), but is a lot like the Sorceror from Diablo I. The Barbarian is just plain boring. He hacks and slashes with most any melee weapon. Try the Lord of Destruction expansion pack too. Gotta love the Druid and Assassin.
Warcraft III - My all-time favorite game was, well, Starcraft, but before that, it was Warcraft II. It was the first 'violent' game I owned and played extensively. So I would have killed for a sequel, right? DEFINITELY YES! Best sequel I have ever played, too. Best storyline ever? Check. Coolest RTS ever? Check. Best, most interesting graphics of any game I own? Pretty much! Making 3D graphics look like the old cartoony WCII graphics is always a plus. Play this game! I'm not good at it, but it is my favorite game of all time. Combining my favorite genres of games, RTS and RPG, and making the coolest story of all time makes this the winner!
Worst games ever:
Star Wars Force Commander-
REALLY bad game. Just trying to control the camera angles made me sick. Not to mention that I've developed an unhealthy obsession to crush Ewoks and other furry critters.
Men in Black- A very bad game. It had controls that were so damn confusing that the game got boring after a few minutes. Plus, I wanted more enemies to use my Quasar Cannon and Noisy Cricket. You give me 99 rounds in one gun and I don't get to use them?!
Star Wars Rebellion- Crappiest Star Wars game, even worse than Force Commander. It's just plain boring and confusing. My record for simultanious popup menus was 30-something. And someone please take a lightsaber to C3PO's head!
If you have a game like Starcraft, go to my Downloadz site for levels I created (when I've actually created some). My Downloadz Site
