Cora Francis Compton
Cora Francis Compton, 95, formerly of 213 E. Wyman Ave. of Hoopeston, died at 12:30 P.M. Thursday, March 1, at the Paxton Community Hospital in Paxton, Il., where she had been a patient for nine days. She was born February 12, 1884 at Edmonton, Ky, the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Day) Dial. She married Joe Lewis Compton on December 10, 1900 at Edmonton, Ky., who preceded her in death on July 14, 1939.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Fannie) Fields of Edmonton, Ky., Mrs. Evelyn Robertson of Albany, Ky., and Mrs. Fred (Kitty) Garrison of Hoopeston, one son, Joe Compton Sr. of Hoopeston, 45 grandchildren, 96 great grandchildren, and 47 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, two daughters, two brothers, one sister, and five grandchildren.
Several years ago she was employed by the FMC Corp. and later worked for the Hoopeston Taxi Service. She was a member of the West Side Nazerene Church of Hoopeston.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Brown-Alkire Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddward Beatty of the West Side Nazerene Church officiating. Burial will be at Floral Hill Cemetary. Visitation will be from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Elbert Compton
Elbert Compton 66, of 201 E. Wyman St., Hoopeston,
died at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday (January 3, 1978) at his home.
Born March 12, 1911 at Edmonton, Kentucky, he was the son of Lewis
and Cora (Dial) Compton. He married Elizabeth McAdams on December
18, 1934 at Covington, Indiana. She preceded him in death on July 10, 1974.
Surviving are his mother Mrs. Cora Compton of Hoopeston, one son
Elbert Gene Compton of Hoopeston, four daughters Mrs. Melvin (Helen) Reed
of Hoopeston, Mrs. James (Joan) Miles of Newark, Ohio; Mrs. Dave (Doris)
Cannon of Hoopeston, Mrs. Terry (Debbie) Chandler, also of Hoopeston, fourteen
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are one brother
Joe Compton of Hoopeston, and three sisters Mrs. Fannie Fields, Mrs. Evelyn
Robertson both of Edmonton, Kentucky and Mrs. Polly Garrison of Hoopeston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Glen, his father,
two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Compton was a member of the Moose Lodge 1227 of Hoopeston and
had previously been employed at Stokley Van Camp for 36 years.
Funeral services will be Thursday at the Hamilton-Orr Funeral home
with the Rev. W.D. Huffman officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M.
Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery.
Elizabeth G. McAdams Compton
Mrs. Elizabeth
G. Compton, 56, of 201 E. Wyman died at 11 P.M. Wednesday (July 10, 1974)
at Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 21, 1918, at Collison
and was married to Elbert Compton December 19, 1946 at Watseka. He Survives.
Other survivors include four daughters,
Mrs. Melvin Reed, Mrs. James Miles and Mrs. Terry Chandler, All of Hoopeston,
and Mrs. David Cannon of Rossville: a son,, Elbert Gene Compton of Hoopeston;
13 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard Cummings and Mrs. Harold
Larrance, Both of Alexandria, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by a son, Glen.
Services will be at 1 P.M. at the Hamilton-Orr
funeral Home, with the Rev. W.D. Huffman officiating. Burial will be in
Floral Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-9 P.M. Friday at
the funeral home.
Emma Jane Compton
Sidell, Il.- Emma Jane Compton, 84, of Sidell, died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday (August 1,
1992)
at USMC, Logan Campus.
She was born Nov. 7, 1907, in Ramsey, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Nellie Taulbee
England.
She was married to William Short. She later married James Fred Compton. Both
preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two brothers, Louie England of Sidell and Wayne England of Danville;
and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death: one daughter, Louise Short,
one sister and five brothers.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Houghton-Leausre Funeral Home in
Georgetown; Burial: Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, Ill. Officiating: Mike Elkins;
Visitation one hour before the service.
Glen William Compton
Glen William Compton, 19, of 201 E. Wyman, died
at 6:15 P.M. Yesterday (May 17, 1970) at Mercy Hospital in Urbana. He had
been a patient there since March 24 when he was injured in an accident
at Essex International, Inc., plant at Hoopeston.
Compton was reported to be standing near a large drawing machine
which forms wire and rolls it on coils. Officials were not sure what happened,
however, Compton was struck by a piece from the machine. He had been
employed for a year and a half in the mechanical maintenance department.
Born November 13, 1950, in Danville, Illinois he was the son of
Elbert and Elizabeth McAdams Compton, who survive.
Other survivors include his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Cora Compton,
a brother, Elbert Gene, and for sisters, Mrs. Helen Reed, Mrs. Joan Miles,
Mrs. Doris Witty and Debbie, all of Hoopeston.
Mr. Compton was a member of the First Nazarene Church.
Services will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the First Church of the
Nazarene. The Rev. Robert Danielson will officiate. Burial will be in Floral
Hill Cemetery. The body is at the HamiltonOrr Funeral Home. Friends will
be received from 6-9 P.M. Tuesday. He was a 1969 Graduate.
Joseph Compton
Hoopeston, Illinois-Joseph "Junior" Compton,
63, of Hoopeston died at 9:40 p.m. Friday (Feb. 13, 1998) at Carle Foundation
Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at the Brown-Alkire
Funeral Home, 309 E. Washington St., Hoopeston. The Rev. Lyle Curtis will
officiate. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home.
Mr. Compton was born June 20, 1934, at Hoopeston,
the son of Joe W. and Lula K. manning Compton. He married Helen Mae
Judy on June 2, 1956, at Geneva. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Hoopeston; one
daughter, Debra Ann Williams of Enterprise, Kan.; one son, Joseph J. Compton
of Hoopeston; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and three sisters,
Alma Roberts of Lebanon, Mo., Eleanor Mann of Hoopeston and Jeannie Fanning
of Milford.
Mr. Compton was preceded in death by his father
and one brother.
He worked at John Deere Foundry in Hoopeston
for many years.
He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Lula K. Manning Compton
Lula Katherine Compton, 86, of Hoopeston, died
at 9:33 a.m., Sunday, April 5, 1998 at Provena Covenant Medical Center,
Urbana.
She was born June 22, 1911 at Poplar Plains,
Ky., the daughter of Noblet and Alma Emmons Manning. she married
Joe Willie Compton on June 1, 1929 at Covington, Ind. He preceded
her in death on Nov. 26, 1979.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeannie Fanning
of Milford, Eleanor Mann of Hoopeston and Alma Roberts of Lebanon, Mo.;
17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Lana Hathaway and Virginia (Paul) Curtis, both of Danville;
and a brother, Robert Manning of Las Vegas, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two
brothers, one sister and two sons.
Mrs. compton had attended the Assembly of God
Church. She enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Floral Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Lyle W. Curtis officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Michael Gene Compton,
14, 6900 68th Ave. N, Pinellas Park, died Saturday (April 24, 1982)
Michael was born in Danville, Illinois and came here four years ago from
Hoopeston, Ill. He was a ninth grade student at Dixie Hollins High School.
He is survived by his parents, Elbert Gene and Deanna Carol Ford Compton;
Three sisters, Tamara Sue, Carie Lynn and April Joy Compton, all of Pinellas
Park; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Edna Ford of Danville. Bobbitt

W.E. Compton
William Edward Compton, 73, died at his home in the Gascon Community Monday morning, October 29, 1956. He was born June 5, 1883, a son of the late John and Josie Owensby Compton.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Katie Marshall Compton, two children, Mary Christine and William Thomas; and four brothers, Rob, Underwood, J.L., and Emery Compton.
Funeral services were held at Society Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. J.W. Barton officiating.

Elma Estella Dial, 64, of Edmonton, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Lee Dial of Greensburg; seven Daughters, Martha Lou Pedigo of Hardyville, Shirley Kay Crain, Teresa Geraldine Dial and Linda Faye Mauldon, all of Cave city, and Alma Dale Auyer, Darlene Ree Ennies and Charlene Lee Gutherie all of Edmonton; two brothers Stanley Staples of Indiana and John W. Staples of Glasgow; two sisters, Lula Belle Whitlow and Myrtie Staples, both of Glasgow; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Her husband Buster Dial and one son, Tony Lynn Dial.
Funeral services were Dec. 30, at Butler Funeral Home, with burial in the White Cemetery.
Denvel (Buster) Dial
Denvel (Buster) Dial, 67, of Edmonton died October 14, 1993 at Bowling Green Medical
Center.
He is survived by his wife, Elma Dial; seven daughters, Martha Lou Morgan of Knob
Lick, Shirley Craine, Linda Mouldon and Teresa Dial all of Cave City. Alma Alyer,
Darlene Ennis and Charlene Gutherie all of Edmonton; on son, Ronnie Dial of Edmonton;
on sister Billy Sue Harvey of Louisville; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Tony Lynn Dial.

Mildred Jean Dial
Mildred E. "Jean" Dial, 67, of Seymour died Thursday at her home. She has been ill 2
1/2 years.
She was a cook, formerly employed with Maid Rite Restaurant and The Station, both in
Seymour. she was a member of Coffee Creek Conservation Club, Commiskey.
Born Nov. 8, 1925, in Glasgow, Kentucky, she was a daughter of John and Martha
Staples. She married Linvel Dial on Oct. 18, 1950, in Glasgow. He does not survive.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Roland (Patsy) Allman, Seymour; two stepdaughters,
Patsy White and Mickey Rogers, both of Champaign, Ill.; three stepsons, Don Dial,
Columbus; and Richard Dial and Laney Dial, both of Champaign, Ill; two brothers, John
Staples, Cave City, and Stanley Staples, Seymour; three sisters, Estella Dial, Edmonton;
Lulabelle Whitlow, Glasgow; Mytrie Staples, Seymour; three grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a grandson.
Services were held at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery.

Fannie Fields was 89 years old when she
died. She died at T.J. Samson Community Hospital on Sunday.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M.,

She is survived by three sons, Elbert Fields,
James Fields. and Dewey Fields, All of Edmonton, Kentucky. Two Daughters,
Lizzie Kneller of Bridgeview, Ill. and Rosie Gibson of Edmonton, a stepson,
Thomas Fields of Edmonton, a sister, Polly Garrison of Hoopeston, IL. 15
grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren, and
several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by three children, Phillip, Lawrence, and Ann Fields.
Philip L. Fields
Edmonton, Kentucky- Philip L. Fields, 53, of Edmonton died December 20, 1993 at his
residence.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Fields; a son, Philip Dale (Petie) Fields of Edmonton; a
daughter, Berneice Huff of Scottsville; a step-son, Gary Alan Gearlds of Edmonton; mother,
Fannie Fields of Edmonton; four brothers, Elbert, James, Dewey and Thomas Fields all of
Edmonton; two sisters, Rosie Gibson of Edmonton and Fannie Kneller of Chicago, Il.; two
grandchildren and four step grandchildren.

Mr. Gream was born Jan. 26, 1934 at Hardin, Kentucky, a son of Finis
and Mary Gream. He married Dorothy Robertson on Jan. 10, 1960, at Covington,
Indiana. She Survives.
Also surviving are one son, Brian Gream of Urbana, two daughters,
Joyce Rosenberger and Pamela Gream, both of Urbana, Four grandchildren,
one sister, Jacqueline Stumborg of Champaign, and Five brothers, Curtis
Gream of Dexter, Ky. Horace Gream of Mount Vernon, Kenneth Gream of Galesburg,
Terry Gream of Burnt Prairie and James Gream of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mr. Gream was a painter for the University of Illinois for the last
four Years. Before that, he had been a painter for 40 years out of Painters
Local 363.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and won the Korea
Service Medal, Two Bronze Stars, The National Defense Medal and the United
Nations Service Medal
William T. Jessie
Will T. Jessie, 54, of Columbus, Ind., died April 11, 1993 at Columbus Regional
Hospital.
He was a former state highway worker.

Jessie was born in Edmonton, Kentucky June 28, 1938, the son of Annie (Kit) Froedge
Jessie Masek of Bridgeview and the late Ernest T. Jessie. He was the grandson of the late
Willie Jessie and Liza Jessie. He married Nettie P. Field March 2, 1957. She survives.
Also surviving are sons, Larry Terry, Eugene and Tim Jessie all of Columbus, In; one
brother, Frank Jessie of Chicago; half brothers Robert Jessie of Columbus, In. and Jimmy
Jessie of Taylorsville, In.; a sister, Katherine Starks of Columbus, In.; half-sisters, Mary
Starks and Linda Jessie, both of Columbus, In.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Whitney
Jessie.

Walter J. Kneller, 66, of Bridgeview, Ill. died August 28, 1993 at Christ Hospital in
Oaklawn, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Lizzie Fields Kneller of Bridgeview; on son, William Lee
Kneller of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; one daughter, Barbara Kohler of Frankfort, Ill.; one sister,
Rosemary Gross of Clarkesville, Ohio; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepson Robert Wilson.

Harold Larrence
Harold Larrance, 65, 1203 S. Clinton Ave., Alexandria, died Monday at Community
Hospital in Anderson.
Born Aug.1, 1929, in Alexandria, he was the son of Cecil W. and Sarah Lee Larrance.
He had been a truck driver and owned his own trucking company for several years. He
owned and operated the Curve Inn in Alexandria from 1969 until his retirement in April of
1993.
He was a member of the Church of St. Mary at Alexandria, the Frankton American
Legion, Anderson Elks Lodge and Alexandria Eagles 1771. He served with the United
States Navy following World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Larrance of Alexandria; a Twin brother, Gerald
Larrance of Summitville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers John and Leo Larrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of St. Mary in
Alexandria. The Rev. Philip S. Haslinger will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Alexandria.
Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. today at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
A vigil service will be at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Amanda Beaver McAdams, 62, Collison died at 9:30 A.M.
Wednesday April 3, 1946 at Lake View hospital, Danville, where she had
been Ill several months of a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Friday at the Morrison
Mortuary, with the Rev. Mac Powell, Armstrong, Officiating. Burial will
be in Collison Cemetery.
Mrs. McAdams was married to Harry C. McAdams, who preceded
her in death in November, 1945. She leaves one son, Frank.
Collison, and four grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were
two daughters Helen, and Mrs. Maggie Mike, Elwood, Indiana and a son, John.
John Mike
Alexandria, Indiana - John Mike, 610 West Monroe Street, died this morning after a two month illness. He was born August 29, 1893 near Athens, Greece to James and Sylvia Mike and came to Elwood at the age of 12.
He moved to Alexandria ten years ago to make his home with a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Lawrence.
He was married to Margaret McAdams who died in 1936. Retired for the past ten years, he had been employed at the Tin Plate and Fettig's Canning Company. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church and the Alexandria Eagles Lodge.
He is survied by two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Nellie Foster, also of Alexandria; a step daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Compton of Hoopeston, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Johnathan J. "John" Miles
Hoopeston, Illinois - Johnathan J. "John" Miles,
32, Of Hoopeston, died at 5:18 p.m., Thursday Feb. 19, 1998 at Hoopeston.
He was born Feb. 20, 1965 at Hoopeston, the son James Nathan and Joan Compton
Miles.
Surviving are his mother of Hoopeston; his father
of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Travis James Miles of Hoopeston; and a brother,
Joey Miles of Hoopeston.
He was preceded in death by a brother and his
maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mr. Miles attended Hoopeston Schools and was
last employed by Mervis Industries Inc. of Danville. He had coached
Hoopeston Midget football and enjoyed sports.
Graveside funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday
at Floral Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John W. Lockwood officiating.
Visitation was 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Monday at
Hamilton-Orr- Funeral Home.

Ronald Owensby
Danville, Illinois-Thomas Ronald "Don" Owensby,
82, of Danville, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998 at Provena USMC, Logan Campus,
Danville.
He was born Oct. 17, 1915 in Barren county, Ky.,
the son of Thomas Willard "Bud" Owensby. He married Violet Lorraine Foley
on July 6, 1934 at Paxton, Il. She survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Toni Lynn (Joe) Owensby-Wright
of Tilton; four sisters Mae Sprague and Onie Reed, both of Hoopeston, Betty
(Malcolm) Goodwine of Boswell, Ind. and Kathleen Mitchell of Connersville,
Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Betty Low (Bud) Scott of Hoopeston.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter,
two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Owensby attended Hoopeston schools.
He worked for the Grab-It-Here Stores in Hoopeston and Danville from 1927
until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Vermilion Heights
Methodist Church and the Uncle Joe Cannon Toastmasters. He enjoyed
camping and watching wildlife.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday
at Pape Memorial Home & Gardens, Danville with the Rev. Kevin L. Nourie
officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Mausoleum. Visitation
will be 4-8 p.m. today at Pape Memorial Home & Gardens.
James W. Pennington
Obituary
James W. Pennington, 55, 112 1/2 N. Market St., Hoopeston, died
Sunday morning while vacationing with his brother in Leisure City, Florida.
His death was due to a heart attack. Born November 10, 1922 near
Edmonton, Kentucky, he was the son of James and Anna (Compton) Pennington.
He married Norma Tabor of Danville, who survives. Also surviving
are two sons Ralph and Pete, One daughter Sharon, Three brothers Harold
of Leisure City, Florida, Donald of Hoopeston, and Herman of Memphis, Tennessee,
and his father, James C. Pennington. Mr. Pennington was the owner
of Pennington Refrigeration Sales and Service in Hoopeston. He was
a veteran of W.W. II and the Korean War. He was member of Moose Lodge 1227,
the Buddy Egnew V.F.W. post 4826 the Ira Owen Kreager American Legion Post
382, all of Hoopeston. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday
at the Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Wagnor officiating. Friends
may call from 7-9 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will
be in Floral Hill Cemetery.
John Floyd 'Boots' Rayls
Hoopeston - John Floyd 'Boots' Rayls died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 1998, at the Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital.
Born June 1, 1913, in Rabbit Hash, Ky., he was the son of Ollie George and Willa Ann Elza Rayls. He married Pampie D. Compton on November 21, 1936, in Watseka. She preceded him in death on June 25, 1958. He then married Norma Louise Gocking on December 29, 1961, in Hoopeston, she survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Judith K. (Charles) Crozier and Frances (Gary) Moore, both of Hoopeston, Beverly Ann (Dave) Teegarden of Rossville, Judith K. (Ron) Goodrum of Woodville, Texas, and Teri (Scott) Eells of Bloomingtion, Ind.; four sons, Stephen Wayne (Toni) Lober of Danville, Larry Dean (Jeannette) Lober of Palos Hills, John Loyd (Rita) Rayls and William Manley "Bill" (Debbie) Rayls, both of Hoopeston; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Mr. Rayls had worked for the Joan-Of-Arc Canning Co. in Hoopeston for many years. He had owned and operated many businesses in Hoopeston, including Boot's Sandwich Shop, The Hoopeston Taxi Service and the Hoopeston Bus Company. He, along with his brother Loyd, was co-founder and operator of the Rayls Brothers Transfer Company in Hoopeston for 45 years, from whch he retired in 1975. In 1977, Mr. Rayls moved to Woodville, Texas, returning to Hoopeston in April of 1994.
He is a member of the Fair view Baptist Church of Town Bluff, Texas, a 50-years member of Star Lodge No. 709 of Hoopeston, the Scottish Rite and the York Rite Bodies, both of Danville, and he was a former member of the Mohammed Shrine in Chicago. He was also treasurer of the Dam "B" Lions Club of Town Bluff, Texas, a director of the Town Bluff Water Department, vice president of the South East Texas Fire Association - Woodville district and he was captain of the Town Bluff Fire Department for 10 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov.28, 1998, at the Brown Alkire Funeral Home, 309 E. Washington St., Hoopeston, with the Rev. Lyle Curtis officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 8 p.m. by Star Lodge No. 709.

Evelyn Robertson,
84, Clinton County Health Care Center in Albany, passed away Monday, April
11, 1994 at Clinton County Hospital.
She is survived by four daughters, Connie
Smith, Lancaster, Texas. Dottie Gream, Urbana, IL, Maydelle Gibson and
Hazel Bane, both of Hoopeston, IL, a son, Kenneth Robertson, Oklahoma City,
Ok. Two Sisters, Kitty Garrison, Hoopeston, IL, Fanny Fields, Edmonton,
Ky, also 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Wednesday, April
13, 1994 at 2:00 P.M. from Talbott Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Waddle
officiating. Final resting place in Caney Branch Cemetery.

Emmett G. Robertson
Emmett G. Robertson, 72, S. Hamilton St., Milford
and a former resident of this community, died at 6:55 A.M. Saturday at
Hoopeston Memorial hospital, where he was admitted Thursday evening following
an automobile accident. Born December 16, 1893 at Center, Kentucky,
he was the son of Alpha and Cattie Franklin Robertson. He married
Evelyn Compton on November 24, 1928 at Covington, Indiana. Survivors
include the Widow Two sons, Emery Lee, Us. Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky,
Kenneth Edward, US Marines in Viet Nam, four daughters Mrs. Robert (Connie)
Smith, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Robert (Maydelle) Gibson, Milford, Mrs. Hazel
Bane, Bueva Park, California, Mrs. John (Dorthey) Gream, Urbana, Two sisters,
Mrs. Mabel Huffman,
Kankakee, Mrs. Hazel Jenkins, Powderly, Texas, and 12 grandchildren. He
was preceded by His parents, a daughter, one brother, and a sister.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Hamilton-Orr funeral
home. Pastor Jack Wagnor of the First Baptist church will officiate with
burial in Floral Hill cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. this
evening at the funeral home.
Kenneth Robertson
Kenneth E. Robertson, 57, of Urbana, died Saturday,
Sept. 14, 1996 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was born October 19, 1938 at Hoopeston,
the son of Emmett and Evelyn Compton Robertson.
Surviving are four sisters, Dottie Gream
of Urbana, Maydelle Gibson and Hazel Bane of Hoopeston and Lucille Smith
of Lancaster, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and a brother.
Mr. Robertson attended Hoopeston schools.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Marine Corps. He had
resided in Urbana for several years. He was employed as a construction
laborer. He enjoyed fishing and country music.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Saturday
at the Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home, Hoopeston, with the Rev. Steven C. Nelson
officiating. Burial with military grave side rites will be in Floral
Hill Cemetery. Visitation will Be from 11 A.M. until the hour of
services at the funeral home.
Ruby M. Cheatham Cannon
Thrasher
Hoopeston, Illinois-Ruby M. Cannon Thrasher, 73, of Hoopeston,
died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday (April 23, 1998) at Provena United Samaritans
Medical Center, Logan Campus.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday
at Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, the Rev. Lewis
Mershon and the Rev. Jack Wagnor officiating.
Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thrasher was born March 14, 1925 in Burkesville,
Kentucky, a daughter of Walter and Roxie Goodhue Cheatham. She married
Jewell Cannon, and later Otha E. "Otis" Thrasher on Dec. 5, 1978 in Hoopeston.
He survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Ruth Ann Followell
of Weldon, Elizabeth Cannon of Hoopeston, and Teresa Rainwater and Anita
Cannon, both of Indianapolis; three sons, Robert Cannon of Danville and
Charles Cannon and David Cannon, both of Hoopeston; a stepdaughter, Janice
Pericich of Butte, Mont.; a stepson, Otis Thrasher of Hamilton, Mont.;
20 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 22-great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include three sisters, Nina Anderson
of South Bend, Ind.; Stella Richards of Brownsville, Ky., and Barbara Scott
of Burkesville, Ky.; and two brothers, Lee Young of Louisville, Ky., and
Johnny Young of Burkesville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter and
a grandson.
Mrs. Thrasher had lived in Hoopeston for 37 years
and was employed by the Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home.
She enjoyed cooking and doll collecting.

Cancer Society.
Tina Thrasher
Juatina Teresa Thrasher, 21 died Feb. 18 at 8:35 p.m.. after a long illness, at St. James
Hospital in Butte, Mont.
Born November 28, 1964, She was the daughter of Otis Thrasher, 217 N. Market,
Hoopeston, Il. and Carolyn Critton of Butte.
Both survive.
Also surviving is one daughter, Trista Thrasher, one brother, Otis Jean,; and one sister
Janice Pericier, all of Butte and seven step-brothers and sisters all residing in Illinois.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Henry E. Watson
Myrtle Beach, S.C.-Henry E. "Hank" Watson, 57, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. died Thursday, June 24, 1999 at his home.
He was born July 25, 1941 at Ambia, Ind., the son of Marion G. and Kitty Compton Watson. He married Patricia Jones. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Kitty Garrison of Hoopeston, Il., two half-brothers, Thimothy Garrison of Hoopeston and Joe Garrison of Tennessee, and a half sister, Linda Brown of Hoopeston.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Watson was employed with the Waccamaw Factory Shops Welcome Center, Myrtle Beach.
Private family services were held in Myrtle Beach, Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

Marie Wells Hoopeston, Illinois-Hazel Marie Wells, 71, of Hoopeston, died at 10:40 a.m. Thursday (April 6, 1995) at Hoopeston community Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Donansburg, Ky., the daughter of John and Lucy (Thompson) Russell. She married Ewell S. "Bully" Wells July 5, 1947, in Danville. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1980. She is survived by two sons, Donald E (Dea) Wells in Japan and Gorge R. "Bob" Well of Hoopeston; one daughter, Karen M. (David) McGinnis of Danville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Earline Probasco of Rankin; a brother-in-law, Bill Wells of Pascagoula, Miss.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, one granddaughter and one sister. Mrs. Wells had resided in Hoopeston for the past 15 years. She had resided for many years in Rankin. She had been employed by CBS and TRW in Hoopeston. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. Services: 3 p.m. Monday at Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home in Hoopeston; Officiating: the Rev. Lewis E. Norma Jean White
Norma Jean White, 55, of Edmonton, died July 15, 1997 at University Hospital in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband, Pate White, 7 son, Mike White, Stevie White, Greg White, Jeff White, Gary White, and Jeffrey White all of Edmonton, and Larry White. of Richmond, In.; Three daughters, Carol Westmoreland, Nita Kay Smith, and Beth White all of Edmonton; a brother Kenneth Compton of Edmonton; half-brother, Johnny Compton of Edmonton; half-sister, Betty Compton of Tompkinsville. A host of Grandchildren, neices and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held July 18 at Butler Funeral Home with burial in the White Cemetery.
