February

A few tidbits of News on the HAM front. First off, HAM is now playing on the 17th for the Taps benefit, not the 18th. We are scheduled to play at 9:20pm Friday night the 17th at the Optimist Club in Morton.

Secondly we'd like to say thanks for everyone who came out last night (3/8/2000) to help us celebrate Amy Ross's and Jason Link's birthday. It was our second show with new guitarist Laura P. and with Marsha back on bass. We should be back up to full force HAM rock by the end of the month.

We composed and recorded two new songs for the movie "Zombie Bloodbath 3" We have them all mixed down on DAT. As soon as I get it transferred to CD I'll make some mp3's and put them up. We aren't for sure which songs will make the cut for the movie, but you can bet your ass we'll let you know when we find out!!

We have completed and mixed down two songs ("Why I Like You" and "Plug It In and Turn It On") towards the new album, "The Terror of Technology" and we still have a ways to go on the rest. We hope to have it done by this Summer.

Last but not least, I'm updating the page a little bit, reorganizing on the back end mainly, so if you notice a few screw ups e-mail me. The only real noticable change right now is the "News Archives".

Okay, we've made you wait long enough...Ham's new bassist is MARSHA SATTERFIELD and our new guitarist is former Velouria guitarist LAURA PARSONS!! That's right!! Marsha decided to come back after Mike left, and we all decided Laura would fit into HAM perfectly. So we begged and begged her to join.

We played our first show with the new line up Saturday night (2/26) to a fully packed house party, (around 200 people between the basement and upstairs) and I'd have to say we rocked! (The Circle Sky also rocked might I add) Laura picked up the songs fast, in fact, we played 12 songs with her, and that was with just a week of practice! I know to some of you it seems like we just traded members with Velouria, but it wasn't like that at all. It just kind of fell into place, and We couldn't be happier!! GEEKROCK FOREVER!!

Ham has found a bassist!! We can't say who it is just yet, but you can find out for yourself on February 26th in Tonica IL. E-mail us at xhamx@aol.com for more info.....Also, System 2 (a.k.a. Mike Taylor) has replaced Laura Parsons in The Velouria Beat as guitarist. This will end his duties in HAM, but there are no hard feelings whatsoever. We wish him all the best in his new role!! =)

Once again, to disspell any rumours, HAM has not broken up, not at all. In fact, due to some recent happenings, we may have some surprises to tell you about in the near future so stay tuned. Make sure you come out to see us on the 26th in Tonica IL, it's near Lasalle. We may be unveiling part of our secret that night.

Do you want to hear our versions of The Breeder's song "Divine Hammer"? Well you can go to http://www.noaloha.com and download the MP3 of us, and of other bands doing Breeder's songs. Once you get there you need to go to the tribute page then submissions.

We also have some other big news to let you in on, but we can't, not quite yet. All I can say is, it has to do with some Zombies....

Hooo-weee, it's been awhile since I've updated the page. Well here's the latest news on the ol' Ham Battle Front. We are still playing out as HAM3000, until we find a permanent bassist. Basically it's still the same band, but we are going to experiment a little more with our setlist and try out some new stuff, songs, uniforms, lights, choreography, the whole works.

We finished our versions of Divine Hammer for the Breeder's comp. I should be adding the MP3's to the site soon. Also, go to www.mp3.com/killowatts to hear two Kill-O-Watts songs!!

Kung-Fu Grip was voted best alternative song on MP3.com's latest comp, "103 of the Best Bands You've Never Heard, VOL. 3". So that's pretty exciting.

We've got some more shows coming up in the next few months, I'll be adding dates as they are confirmed. Look out sissies, HAM is back with a vengence!!
