A Rose?
Katrina walked from her Spanish class to her locker after the bell for last hour rang. Her friend August walked up to her when she started doing the combination to her lock.
"Hey Kat, you want to come over after school? I need help babysitting my little brother, I'll give you half of what I earn" she said reasonably. Kat nodded her head and opened up her locker. She immediately saw the single long stem rose inside.
"What the hell?" She said pulling it out. August got a surprised look on her face.
"Why do you have a rose in your locker?" She asked with a weird face. Kat just gave her "You cannot be that stupd look" and then looked back down noticing a tag around the flower.She read it..

I wanted to give you this rose as an invitation.
Meet me after school by the flagpole.
I'll wait forever for someone as sweet as you.

"Umm..uhh..Read this!" She said handing it to her friend. August read it over and smiled.
"Awe! Nevermind babysitting! You have to go get this guy Kat! Now you could have a date to the Spring Fling!" She was really excited. Kat was smiling but was also not so sure about this. Her and guys never got along. She was always too shy to even talk to any guy.
"August..I can't actually go. That is out of the question. You need me to babysit, and you are my friend. I can't let you down"
"Forget my brother! You are just making excuses! This guy likes you Kat! You can't just leave him hanging.You are going if I have to drag you out there and tie you down to the bench myself!" She said while slamming her locker and taking her friend by the arm towards the front exit of the high school. Kat was struggling but August had a firm grip on her arm. There was no hope, she was going to meet this guy. Now if she was actually going to be able to talk, that would be another question.
They got outside and August sat Katrina down on the bench right next to the flagpole.
"Stay" She commanded. "I have to go or my mom will kill me dead, but please stay here and wait for him Kat. You can do this. You know you can."
"Yeah yeah, I'm staying. But only for half an hour! Katrina Stratford waits for no man!" August laughed at that comment.
"You would wait for Zac Hanson!" She said with a smirk.
"August!! Shut up! God, nobody knows I like him! Why don't you just yell that a little louder!" She exclaimed looking around her. Alot of people were out there, more than usual for some odd reason, and Kat did not want everyone knowing about her little fantasies.
"Sorry Sorry, Well You better call me as soon as you get home! I'm talking details girl." She said walking away.
