Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE)

This page is all about the organization that I was involved with at ICC.

What We Are About...

SIFE is a global, non-profit organization that is literally changing the world through highly dedicated student teams on more than 1400 university campuses in 33 countries. SIFE offers students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise. Guided by faculty advisors and supported by businesses around the globe, SIFE Teams teach important concepts through educational outreach projects, including market economics, entrepreneurship, and business ethics to better themselves, and their communities. Each year, SIFE competitions are held worldwide, drawing together thousands of students and business leaders to pay tribute to these extraordinary educational outreach projects.

Our Team

I have been involved with this organization for 2 years now and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I met and became friends with so many people that I normally may have never had the chance to know otherwise. This year's team (2002-2003) has been the best so far that I have experienced. Overall, we all have worked together much more on many different projects than in previous years. We have accomplished more together than I ever thought possible. This has been by far the best year I have ever experienced in my college education!

Our Team

Every year, the SIFE team organizes a team of speakers to take to Regional Competition that is held at the Peabody at Memphis, TN. This year, our team was comprised of four speakers and one who helped with the visual part of our presentation. What we do is, organize a speech of everything the SIFE team accomplished in the past school year according to SIFE criteria, and present it to a board of CEO's who then judge you. This year on April 1, 2003, we competed and won our division of the Regional Competition! Now, on May 11-14, 2003, we go to compete in the National part of competitions in Kansas City, Kansas. I am very confident that we will hold our ground and do a very successful job of representing ICC at the Nationals this year!
